Thanh Thang cement plant inaugurates 2nd production line

Deputy Prime Minister Trinh Dinh Dung urged cement producers to prioritise environmental protection while producing cement at an inauguration ceremony for the second production line of the Thanh Thang cement plant in Ha Nam province on July 2.

He also asked enterprises to closely monitor market demand to adjust the production scale in order to avoid excess or shortage of cement.

The 2nd production line of Thanh Thang plant uses the most modern technology from Japan, producing an annual capacity of 1.3 million tonnes which helps raise the total capacity of the plant to 1.75 million tonnes per year.

The production line has a total investment of nearly VND5 trillion (US$220 million) and covers an area of 60ha.

After the inauguration of the line, Ha Nam province will have a total cement production capacity of 13.5 million tonnes per year, becoming the leading producer of cement in Vietnam.

Thanh Thang cement plant has also created jobs for more than 600 people, contributing to local economic development and security.

Thanh Thang Group Cement JSC, the operator of Thanh Thang cement plant, was established in 2005 with a chartered capital of VND36 billion (US$1.58 million).

The company has expanded strongly in many areas and now has a total chartered capital of VND1.68 trillion (US$73.92 million) which has made significant contributions to the construction sector and Ha Nam province over the past ten years.

At the inauguration ceremony, Thanh Thang company was presented with the Labour Order, third class and a Certificate of Merit in recognition of its considerable contributions to socio-economic development in the past years.
