According to the Agency for Regional Industry and Trade (ARIT), over the past decade, the program voting and selecting outstanding rural industrial products at different levels has seen gradual improvement as most of the provinces have promulgated their industrial promotion programs for particular periods, including the selection of and support for outstanding rural industrial products. Sixty-two out of 63 provinces and cities, except for Quang Ninh, have issued plans and regulations for each edition of the program, attracting the participation of more than 6,000 establishments, recognizing 2,934 items as outstanding rural industrial products at the district level and 5,486 items at the provincial and municipal levels.

During the 2012-2022 period, the ARIT held six editions of the program at the regional level, featuring 1,630 oustanding products recognized. Four editions at the national level recognized 512 products. The number of registered products has been on the rise, mainly processed products in the sectors of agriculture, forestry, fishery and foodstuff.

Through the voting and selection, potential products have been discovered and businesses have been encouraged to expand production and step up trade promotion, especially for those of high quality, and of regional, national advantages, contributing to the development of rural industry.

The voting, honoring and granting of certificates to outstanding rural industrial products have helped many rural industrial establishments affirm their trademarks and product quality, opening up opportunities to expand markets, thereby enhancing investment to expand production scales, improve product quality, and lower prices to increase competitiveness in the market.

Based on the achieved results, the ARIT has decided to make more changes to the organization of the program so that by 2025 the product registration procedures and communication in different levels, and the selection and management of outstanding products will have been easier thanks to the application of information technology and digital transformation, improving the efficiency of the program.

At the same time, it will also continue to support the development of outstanding rural industrial products by allocating national and local industrial promotion funding to project development, giving priority to projects aiming at production expansion and outstanding product development, strengthening the introduction and promotion of products at the regional and national levels, supporting enterprises and establishments with outstanding rural industrial products to participate in the annual national program on trade promotion, supporting trademark development, improving capabilities in label and packaging design suitable with target markets, contributing to increasing trademark values for products.
