At the invitation of the RoK’s President Lee Jae Myung, President Luong Cuong and the delegation departed on the morning of October 29 to attend the 32nd APEC Economic Leaders’ Week and conduct bilateral engagements in the RoK from October 29 to November 1.
Amid increasingly complex regional and global dynamics, defined by heightened strategic competition, growing protectionism, and the profound impacts of climate change on global development, President Luong Cuong’s visit highlights Vietnam’s active role in the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC), the region’s premier economic forum, reaffirming the country’s standing, credibility, and growing capacity for deeper international integration.

On October 29, President Luong Cuong and a high-ranking Vietnamese delegation departed Hanoi for the Republic of Korea to attend the 32nd APEC Economic Leaders’ Week and conduct bilateral activities from October 29 to November 1, 2025.
Under the theme “Building a Sustainable Future: Connect, Innovate, Prosper,” the 32nd APEC Economic Leaders’ Week is expected to adopt key initiatives aimed at strengthening the multilateral trading system, promoting green and digital transitions, fostering innovation, and enhancing the region’s economic resilience to global shocks.
Vietnam’s participation, led by President Luong Cuong, underscores the nation’s foreign policy of independence, self-reliance, peace, cooperation, and development, as well as its commitment to multilateralism and diversification in external relations. It also reflects Vietnam’s proactive and responsible approach to regional and global issues.
On the sidelines of the APEC events, President Luong Cuong is scheduled to hold bilateral meetings with leaders of member economies to boost cooperation in areas of shared interest, expand partnerships, and mobilize resources for national development, contributing meaningfully to peace, stability, and shared prosperity in the region.
Vietnam and the RoK are currently among each other’s leading economic partners, with two-way trade reaching nearly USD 90 billion in 2024 and heading toward the target of USD 100 billion by 2030. Business communities from both countries are playing an increasingly vital role in strengthening regional and global supply chains, particularly in electronics, high technology, renewable energy, and the digital economy.
President Luong Cuong’s visit to the RoK and participation in the 32nd APEC Economic Leaders’ Week is expected to create new momentum for the Vietnam - RoK Comprehensive Strategic Partnership, deepen cooperation within APEC, and make a positive contribution to the international community’s joint efforts to build a peaceful, stable, cooperative, and sustainable Asia-Pacific region.
