
Russian, Chinese leaders send greetings on Vietnam’s National Day

HANOI, Sept 2 - On the occasion of the 80th anniversary of Vietnam’s National Day (Sept 2, 1945 - 2025), leaders of Russia and China sent congratulatory messages and letters to leaders of the Communist Party and the State of Vietnam.

Russian President Vladimir Putin sent a congratulatory message to General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam To Lam and President of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam Luong Cuong. Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin sent greetings to Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, while Chairwoman of the Russian Federation Council Valentina Matviyenko and Chairman of the State Duma Vyacheslav Volodin sent congratulatory letters to National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man. On this occasion, Chairman of the United Russia Party Dmitry Medvedev and Chairman of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation Gennady Zyuganov also sent letters of congratulations to General Secretary To Lam.
Russian President Vladimir Putin warmly congratulated the leadership and people of Vietnam on this important holiday, emphasizing that over the past 80 years Vietnam has achieved great accomplishments and is now confidently advancing in socio-economic progress with growing prestige in the Asia-Pacific region and internationally. They affirmed that the comprehensive strategic partnership between Russia and Vietnam is developing positively, and that coordination on regional and international issues is yielding good results, based on mutual respect and consideration of each other’s interests.
Chinese General Secretary and President Xi Jinping sends congratulatory message on Vietnam's National Day
On the same occasion, Xi Jinping, General Secretary of the Communist Party of China and President of the People’s Republic of China, also sent a congratulatory message to General Secretary To Lam and President Luong Cuong. Chinese Premier Li Qiang sent greetings to Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, while Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress Zhao Leji sent greetings to National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man.

In their messages, senior Chinese leaders congratulated Vietnam on its achievements, highlighting political and social stability, rapid economic growth, improving living standards, and its rising regional and international influence. They expressed confidence that under the strong leadership of the Communist Party of Vietnam, the country will firmly advance on its socialist path suited to national conditions, successfully organize the 14th National Party Congress, and move strongly toward its two centenary goals.
Regarding China-Vietnam relations, the leaders noted that since establishing diplomatic relations 75 years ago, the traditional friendship of being “both comrades and brothers” built and nurtured by the countries’ predecessors has continued to grow. They affirmed that China regards Vietnam as a priority direction in its neighborhood diplomacy and is ready to work with Vietnam, on the occasion of the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations and the Year of People-to-People Exchange, to further strengthen solidarity and cooperation, deepen the comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership, deliver practical benefits to the peoples, and contribute more to peace and progress for humanity.
