The Quang Ninh Provincial Department of Industry and Trade’s data show that during the 10-year implementation of Government Decree 45/2012/ND-CP on industry promotion, Quang Ninh Province implemented 126 projects to help rural manufacturers renovate production and/or apply advanced machinery and technology with a total capital of almost VND11.93 billion. These projects attracted nearly VND95.23 billion in reciprocal capital, created jobs for about 2,000 employees, and helped beneficiary enterprises increase production productivity by 20-40 percent, reduce costs, increase competitiveness, and reduce environmental pollution.

Two hundred and fifty-four rural industrial establishments in the province benefited from industry promotion policies, 66.5 percent of which are small- and medium-sized enterprises; 9.1 percent are cooperatives, 24.4 percent household production facilities, and 24.4 percent production establishments.

About 62.5 percent of all beneficiaries received industry promotion support for technical demonstration model construction and advanced equipment and technology application, and the remaining 37.5 percent received advice and assistance in setting up investment projects to upgrade machinery and equipment, and trade promotion.

A number of rural industrial producers received industry promotion assistance twice.

Industry promotion support is concentrated on potential industries, including food processing, wood handicrafts, mechanics, textile and garment, unburnt bricks, and forest product processing.

Industry promotion projects in Quang Ninh will further help rural industrial manufacturers improve product quality, create environmentally friendly and competitive products to meet the growing demand and increasingly sophisticated requirements of consumers, and maintain the market.
