PV GAS joins training on gas pipeline management

(VEN) - The training program on “Operation of gas pipeline management system” is part of the annual cooperation activities between Vietnam Oil and Gas Group (Petrovietnam) and the Russian gas giant Gazprom. Recently, the program has been implemented at the Gazprom Corporate Institute and Gazprom's production facilities with the participation of the Petrovietnam Gas Joint Stock Corporation (PV GAS).

Speaking at the opening of the training program, Alexander Petchenkin - Director of the Gazprom Corporate Institute highly appreciated the cooperative relationship between Gazprom and Petrovietnam. He also affirmed that this is a precious opportunity for officials and experts from both sides to learn and share working experience in the field of common concern.

During the training period, Gazprom experts shared the contents associated with its main activities, including Gazprom's gas transportation system, current modern gas pipeline inspection and assessment technologies, the operational coordination system used at Gazprom companies, the Astra Gaz - Volna software in Gazprom’s production, and energy saving- reduction of greenhouse gas emissions at Gazprom.

In the training course, the delegation of Petrovietnam officials and experts directly visited the Nord Stream compressor station, a project that plays an important role in the gas supply system for the Northwestern region of the Russian Federation and the Nevsky air compressor manufacturing factory. Leaders of production facilities introduced and shared key technological equipment as well as their experience in ensuring safety and efficiency in operation, maintenance and repair of equipment.

During discussions with Gazprom, Petrovietnam officials and experts expressed deep concern about the scale, stability, safety and efficiency of technological equipment systems at the production facilities of Gazprom. The delegation also asked many questions, had discussions, comments as well as shared experience in ensuring safety in operations, seeking solutions for energy efficiency, and reducing greenhouse gas emissions that Petrovietnam has been implementing. In addition to training contents, the Petrovietnam delegation also had cultural exchanges in Saint Petersburg and Pushkin cities, visited and paid tribute to President Ho Chi Minh at his monument in Saint Petersburg.

Speaking at the closure of the training program, a representative of Gazprom affirmed that the program has created an opportunity for the parties to exchange experience and share about professional issues. Meanwhile, Gazprom highly appreciated the professionalism of Petrovietnam officials and experts. All members of the Petrovietnam delegation successfully completed their tasks and received certificates from Gazprom for having completed the training program.

On behalf of the Petrovietnam delegation, head of the delegation Vu Tuyet Thanh Ha thanked Gazprom's officials, experts and production units for their considerate reception and for their practical training program. The acquired knowledge will be of great help to Petrovietnam officials and experts in their work. Ha also hoped that Petrovietnam and Gazprom's member units will continue to further promote coordination programs in the coming time.
