Provincial industries experience new breakthroughs

Specifically, the industrial production index grew by 6.17 percent compared with 2022. The processing and manufacturing industries grew by 6.48 percent; the production and distribution of electricity, gas, hot water, steam, and air conditioners increased by 2.09 percent; water supply, wastewater and waste treatment and management increased by 2.05 percent. Some industrial products experienced significant growth compared to the same period of 2022, for example footwear up 11.84 percent, plastic products up 10.87 percent, ready-mixed concrete up 20.07 percent, and non-welded iron and steel pipes used for oil or gas transportation up 62.81 percent.

The investment in industrial infrastructure development, especially industrial parks and clusters, has been strongly directed and has achieved clear results. So far, the Provincial People’s Committee has decided to establish 26 industrial clusters (ICs), four of which have commenced the construction of technical infrastructure. Three ICs with a total area of approximately 49.56ha have attracted 34 secondary investors.

The Provincial People’s Committee has asked the Prime Minister for permission to change the land use purposes of five ICs with a total area of 235.56ha: (1) Chinh Nghia, 75ha; (2) Hoa Phong, 17.7ha; (3) Yen My, 47.78ha; (4) Minh Chau - Viet Cuong, 50ha; and (5) Van Du - Quang Vinh, 45ha. The province has received the approval from the Prime Minister to include the sixth industrial park (308ha) and Tan A Dai Thanh Industrial Park (200ha) in the development plan for industrial parks in Vietnam. The Prime Minister has approved the investment plans for five industrial parks in the province. The investors of these industrial parks are expediting compensations for site clearance in accordance with regulations.

It is planned that by 2025, six industrial parks, including new and expanded ones, will have been operational, ensuring the fulfillment of the targets set in Resolution 07-NQ/TU of the Provincial Party Committee for the 2020-2025 term. Furthermore, Hung Yen Province will continue to prioritize attracting high-tech industrial projects that have the capability to deeply engage in the global production and distribution network. There will be a stronger focus on attracting secondary investment projects into industrial parks and clusters.

Hung Yen Province is also mobilizing resources to invest in the development of synchronized transportation infrastructure, connecting with important transportation hubs in the Northern Key Economic Zone and the Red River Delta to meet the urgent requirements for socioeconomic development. There is an emphasis on implementing power development plans to ensure the sufficient supply of electricity to meet the operational and business needs of enterprises, especially key enterprises and those with foreign investment capital.

Bringing into play the achieved results, the provincial Department of Industry and Trade will continue to provide advice on the effective implementation of industry and trade programs and projects. Efforts will be made to streamline administrative procedures, renovate industry and trade promotion to support local enterprises in boosting production and business activities, and enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of state management in the electricity and petroleum sectors to ensure the sufficient supply of fuel and electricity for production.

Particularly for industrial clusters, the Department of Industry and Trade will coordinate with relevant departments, sectors, and local authorities to urge investors to accelerate the implementation of IC infrastructure projects. The aim is to bring the ICs into operation as soon as possible, contributing to accelerating the province’s industrial development in 2024 and ensuing years.
