Prime Minister welcomed South Africa’s choice of the theme, “Strategic Minerals, Sustainable Employment and Artificial Intelligence,” noting that it reflects three major global trends: green transition, digital transformation, and demographic-labor shifts.
The rapid advancement of science and technology, particularly AI, is reshaping production methods and global labor distribution, driving significant demand for energy and strategic minerals. While presenting opportunities for countries to leap forward, these developments also carry risks of supply chain disruptions and governance challenges, underscoring the need for coordinated global action, with the G20 playing a leading role.
Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh outlined three strategic priorities aimed at fostering a fair, equitable, and just future for all nations and people worldwide.
First, to establish partnerships in strategic minerals that are fair, equitable, stable, and transparent, based on the principle of “shared benefits and shared risks.” This includes promoting cooperation, diversifying sustainable mineral supply chains, developing high-tech and deep-processing industries, recycling, and creating quality, sustainable jobs aligned with environmental, social, and governance standards.

Second, to achieve breakthroughs in high-quality human resource development linked to modern, efficient, and sustainable labor markets. Prime Minister urged the G20 to support developing countries in participating in educational cooperation initiatives, removing barriers, enhancing collaboration, connecting regional and global labor markets, and implementing strategies, policies, programs, and projects to train skilled workers and youth for rapid and sustainable development.
Third, to build and nurture a human-centered artificial intelligence ecosystem. Prime Minister called on the G20 to take the lead in establishing fair, transparent, inclusive, safe, and humane AI governance standards, and to assist developing countries in building digital infrastructure, databases, technology ecosystems, governance systems, and AI applications to ensure safe, inclusive, and sustainable development.

Under the motto “listen and understand together; act with trust together; develop and benefit together,” Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh affirmed Vietnam’s readiness to work closely with the G20 and the international community to implement these strategic priorities through concrete and practical programs, contributing to shared prosperity for all nations and peoples.
The Prime Minister’s proposals were widely welcomed and praised by the summit. The meeting also adopted a joint leaders’ declaration and marked the handover of the G20 Chair from South Africa to the United States.
