The Cambodian Prime Minister underscored the significance of the Vietnamese leader's visit which helps advance the bilateral relations towards a substantive and effective manner.
He spoke highly of Viet Nam's achievements, particularly its efforts to reform the administrative apparatus and promote rapid and sustainable economic growth, expressing his confidence that Viet Nam would successfully achieve its strategic development goals for 2030 and 2045.
The Cambodian Government and people will consistently work with Viet Nam to preserve and promote their good-neighborly relations, traditional friendship, comprehensive cooperation, and long-term sustainability, for the interests of peace, stability, and prosperity in both countries, noted the host.
Le, for his part, emphasized that Viet Nam always attaches great importance to its relations with Cambodia and would work together with Cambodia to preserve and promote the tradition of solidarity and close ties between the two peoples.
Both sides vowed to continue effectively implementing existing agreements and enhancing the role of bilateral cooperation mechanisms, thereby establishing a solid foundation for the stable, substantive, and sustainable development of the bilateral ties.
The two Prime Ministers pledged to strengthen close coordination in maintaining security, public order, and social safety in each country, affirming the principle that neither country would allow any force to use its territory to undermine or harm the security and interests of the other.
Both sides pledged to enhance coordination in border management and protection and combat transnational crime, particularly high-tech crime and online scams, thereby helping ensure security and safety for their peoples.
Regarding economic, trade, and investment cooperation, the two Prime Ministers reaffirmed their determination to enhance connectivity between the two the two economies, promote cross-border economic cooperation and facilitate trade, investment, and business activities by enterprises from both countries.
The host and the guest vowed to strive to increase bilateral trade turnover to US$20 billion in the coming period and encourage businesses from both countries to strengthen investment cooperation, develop cross-border industrial and agricultural value chains, and expand processing industries, gradually shifting from traditional trade exchanges toward investment, production, and deeper processing cooperation.
They emphasized the need to bolster local-to-local linkages, particularly border provinces, and accelerate infrastructure, trade, and logistics connectivity to facilitate the movement of goods and people-to-people exchanges.
Economic cooperation should go hand in hand with maintaining security and public order in border areas and building a peaceful, friendly, cooperative, and mutually developing border, they stressed.
Both sides underscored the importance of expanding people-to-people exchanges, particularly by strengthening engagement between young people and young leaders as well as join hands to successfully organize activities under the framework of the Viet Nam-Cambodia Friendship Year 2027, marking the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties (June 24, 1967).
The two Prime Ministers agreed to enhance information sharing and consultation on strategic issues related to each country's security, stability, and development, asserting to continue close coordination and mutual support within ASEAN and other multilateral mechanisms of which both countries are members.
Following the talks, leaders from both sides witnessed the exchange of six bilateral cooperation documents covering security, drug prevention and control, trade, culture, education, and training.
