On December 26, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh officially presented the decision appointing Le Ngoc Son, General Director of the Vietnam National Industry - Energy Group (Petrovietnam), to the position of Chairman of the Group.

Under Decision No. 2808, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh has signed the decision to appoint member of the Member Council and General Director of the Petrovietnam Le Ngoc Son, to the position of Chairman of the Member Council of the Petrovietnam, effective from December 26, 2025.
The Prime Minister and leaders of ministries and sectors present congratulatory flowers to the Petrovietnam Chairman.
Previously, on March 18, 2024, the Petrovietnam Member Council issued Decision No.1592 appointing Mr. Le Ngoc Son, then a Member of the Member Council, as General Director of Petrovietnam for a five-year term.
Born in 1972, Le Ngoc Son holds a Master’s degree in Petroleum Reservoir Evaluation and Management and an engineering degree in Petroleum Drilling and Production Technology.
The newly appointed Petrovietnam Chairman possesses nearly 30 years of experience in the oil and gas sector across various capacities; prior to his tenure as General Director of Petrovietnam, he served as Head of the Oil and Gas Production Division at the Group and General Director of the Phu Quoc Petroleum Operating Company.
