According to the Press Center of the 14th National Party Congress, an international press conference will be held this afternoon, January 23, to officially release the results of the 14th National Congress. The General Secretary of the 14th Party Central Committee will preside over the event.

The press conference will be held immediately after the Congress’s closing session at the Press Center Hall of the National Convention Center.

Earlier, on January 22, the 14th National Party Congress announced the list of 200 members of the 14th Party Central Committee, including 180 full members and 20 alternate members.

According to the announced list, 10 of the 16 members of the 13th Politburo were re-elected to the new Party Central Committee. These include three key leaders of the Party and the State: Party General Secretary To Lam, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man and Permanent Member of the Secretariat Tran Cam Tu.

Seven other members of the 13th Politburo were also re-elected to the 14th Party Central Committee: Chairwoman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Bui Thi Minh Hoai; Head of the Party Central Committee’s Organization Commission Le Minh Hung; General Phan Van Giang, Minister of National Defense; General Luong Tam Quang, Minister of Public Security; Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee Nguyen Duy Ngoc; General Nguyen Trong Nghia, Director of the General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People’s Army; and Standing Vice Chairman of the National Assembly Do Van Chien.

Nine members of the 13th Secretariat were re-elected to the 14th Party Central Committee (including Politburo members assigned by the Politburo): General Secretary To Lam; Permanent Member of the Secretariat Tran Cam Tu; Chairwoman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Bui Thi Minh Hoai; Head of the Party Central Committee’s Organization Commission Le Minh Hung; Head of the Party Central Committee’s Commission for Information, Education and Mass Mobilization Trinh Van Quyet; Minister of Foreign Affairs Le Hoai Trung; Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee Tran Luu Quang; General and Director of the General Department of Political Affairs of the Vietnam People’s Army Nguyen Trong Nghia and Standing Deputy Head of the Party Central Committee’s Internal Affairs Commission Le Minh Tri.

According to the programme, the 14th National Party Congress will convene its closing session on the afternoon of January 23. In line with established practice, the closing session will feature the formal introduction of the 14th Party Central Committee, the Politburo, the Secretariat, and the Central Inspection Commission.
