During the visit, Prime Minister Chinh praised the concerted efforts of government ministries, Hanoi authorities, and Vingroup. After just over eight months since groundbreaking, the massive, modern complex—designed to meet international standards—has already taken shape and is on track for completion as promised.

The Prime Minister called for accelerated construction to ensure the project is completed on schedule, serving as the main venue for the national exhibition celebrating Vietnam’s socio-economic achievements on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution (August 19, 1945 – August 19, 2025) and National Day (September 2, 1945 – September 2, 2025).
The Prime Minister instructed that the centre, located in the historic Co Loa area, should be developed into a new symbol of Hanoi and Vietnam—one that reflects national stature, cultural depth, architectural sophistication, environmental harmony, and modern governance.
He emphasized the importance of showcasing Vietnam’s progress after 40 years of Doi Moi, transforming the centre into a hub for culture, arts, tourism, and creative industries.
“This should be a regional and global exhibition centre where the Vietnamese people can access the cultural and artistic achievements of both our nation and the world,” the Prime Minister said. “It must be a place that localizes global values and internationalizes our unique cultural identity.”
The Prime Minister urged that the main construction be essentially completed by the end of July 2025. Deputy Prime Minister Mai Van Chinh has been tasked with overseeing project implementation, while the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism will be responsible for building a detailed timeline and assigning clear responsibilities, deliverables, and accountability.
Prime Minister Chinh also approved, in principle, special mechanisms and policies to support the project. If necessary, foreign consultants with experience in organizing large-scale events may be brought in. At the same time, he stressed the need for Vietnamese personnel to absorb new technologies and management knowledge.
He reaffirmed the Government\'s commitment: “We only move forward, never backward. If we make a promise, we must deliver. If we commit to something, we must see it through—with tangible results and real products.”
Alongside the main exhibition facilities, the Prime Minister instructed that auxiliary infrastructure, service facilities, and other amenities must be completed in parallel to ensure the centre operates effectively and meets world-class standards.
Located at the northeastern gateway of Hanoi, the National Exhibition and Fair Centre is a key national project in the trade and service sector. It replaces the former exhibition centre in Giang Vo and broke ground in late August 2024. Spanning 90 hectares, the site boasts excellent connectivity via roadways, air routes, and metro lines. The main structure is an indoor exhibition facility divided into nine zones, each over 10,000 square metres, with a central hall covering more than 7,000 square metres. Additionally, the centre will feature four expansive outdoor exhibition parks covering a combined 20.6 hectares—making it the largest of its kind in Asia. The Prime Minister concluded his visit by encouraging and expressing appreciation to the workers and engineers on-site, underlining the project\'s national importance and its future as a cultural and economic beacon. |
