
National Assembly approves appointment of six Deputy Prime Ministers, 17 ministers and heads of agencies

Earlier the same morning, at the first session of the 16th National Assembly, lawmakers cast ballots to approve the appointments of Deputy Prime Ministers, ministers and other Government members, as well as to approve the appointment of judges of the Supreme People’s Court. The Assembly then heard a report on the vote-counting results.

At the session, Le Quang Manh, a member of the National Assembly Standing Committee, presented three draft resolutions on: approving the Prime Minister’s nominations for the appointment of Deputy Prime Ministers; approving the Prime Minister’s nominations for the appointment of ministers and other Government members; and approving the Chief Justice’s nominations for the appointment of judges of the Supreme People’s Court.
The National Assembly subsequently passed a resolution approving the Prime Minister’s nominations for Deputy Prime Ministers for the 2026–2031 term. The results showed that 485 deputies participated in the vote (equivalent to 97% of all deputies), of whom 484 voted in favor (96.30% of all deputies), while one deputy abstained (0.20%).
Accordingly, the list of Deputy Prime Ministers for the 2026–2031 term comprises: Pham Gia Tuc, Phan Van Giang, Pham Thi Thanh Tra, Ho Quoc Dung, Nguyen Van Thang and Le Tien Chau.
Also on the morning of April 8, the National Assembly adopted a resolution approving the Prime Minister’s nominations for the appointment of ministers and other Government members for the 2026–2031 term. A total of 481 deputies took part in the vote, with all 481 voting in favor (100% of deputies present, equivalent to 96.20% of all deputies).
