On the evening of October 14 (local time), in Islamabad, within the framework of his working visit to Pakistan, Minister of Industry and Trade Nguyen Hong Dien met with officials and staff of the Vietnam Embassy in Pakistan.

During the meeting, the Minister highly appreciated the Embassy’s role in sharing market information, supporting Vietnamese enterprises in resolving difficulties, and accompanying domestic businesses in seeking and expanding investment and trade opportunities in the Pakistani market.

He noted that various activities organized by the Embassy have played an important role in increasing bilateral trade between Vietnam and Pakistan.

Minister Nguyen Hong Dien and Vietnam’s Ambassador to Pakistan Pham Anh Tuan discussed and agreed on several measures to further promote bilateral cooperation. The Minister also requested the Embassy to actively promote the establishment of a direct air route and sea transport line between Vietnam and Pakistan, as well as to coordinate efforts in removing trade barriers to facilitate import and export activities between the two countries.

Notably, the Minister asked Ambassador Pham Anh Tuan and Embassy staff to accelerate negotiations on the Vietnam - Pakistan Preferential Trade Agreement (VPPTA).
