Minister Nguyen Hong Dien calls for patriotic emulation in the Industry and Trade sector to advance comprehensively with higher quality and effectiveness.

Raising patriotic emulation to a new level

The 4th Patriotic Emulation Congress of the Industry and Trade sector for 2025-2030 was held on the morning of September 30, attended by Deputy Prime Minister Le Thanh Long along with leaders from the Ministry of Home Affairs and the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor.

After nearly three hours of focused and responsible discussions, the Congress completed its agenda, reviewing the 2020-2025 patriotic emulation movement and reward work. Delegates analyzed achievements and shortcomings, identified causes especially subjective ones drew lessons, and set out directions, goals, and solutions to strengthen patriotic emulation in the next five years.

The Congress honored outstanding collectives and individuals for the 2020-2025 period and expressed support for the new movement launched by the sector’s Trade Union for 2025-2030. Delegates pledged to seriously implement the tasks, making emulation results an important contribution to the nation’s development.

Minister Nguyen Hong Dien, in his closing speech, emphasized that the Industry and Trade sector is entering a new phase of development amid rapid changes in science, technology, innovation, digital transformation, and international integration. These trends bring both opportunities and challenges, especially as global supply chains shift and fracture.

He highlighted major strategic decisions by the Party and State on restructuring the political system for greater efficiency, breakthroughs in science and technology, digital transformation, legal reforms, international integration, private sector development, and national energy security. These, he said, place new missions and responsibilities on the Industry and Trade sector, requiring bold breakthroughs to accelerate industrialization, modernization, and global integration.

Building on achievements, acting decisively with aspiration to contribute

“The tasks ahead are honorable but also difficult,” the Minister stressed. “To succeed, the patriotic emulation movement in Industry and Trade must be elevated to a new height, comprehensive, far-reaching, with high quality and effectiveness, and with active participation from all levels of Party committees, authorities, organizations, and individuals.”

He called on all officials, civil servants, and workers to build on the sector’s proud traditions and achievements, uphold solidarity, discipline, responsibility, and innovation, and act decisively with dedication and aspiration to serve the common good. He urged them to rigorously implement directives, excel in assigned duties, and make worthy contributions to the 11th National Patriotic Emulation Congress and the 14th National Party Congress, thereby ensuring rapid and sustainable growth of the Industry and Trade sector.

Minister Nguyen Hong Dien underscored that the Congress’s success reflected the tireless efforts of the sector’s workforce, as well as close leadership from the Party, State, Government, and the Central Emulation and Reward Council, and the careful preparation by the Congress Organizing Committee.

On behalf of the Party Committee, the Ministry’s leadership, and the sector’s Emulation and Reward Council, he expressed sincere gratitude to Party and State leaders, the National Assembly, Government, the Prime Minister, Deputy Prime Ministers, central agencies, and local authorities for their guidance and support. He also thanked former leaders of the Ministry, security and logistics units, the media, and all staff who contributed to the successful organization of the Congress.

Minister Nguyen Hong Dien acknowledged and commended the Congress service subcommittees, security, logistics, technical, information, medical units and the cadres and civil servants who were dedicated and responsible in preparing the content and necessary conditions for the successful organization of the Congress; thanked the news agencies and newspapers inside and outside the industry for always accompanying, promptly informing and propagating about patriotic emulation movements and typical advanced examples of the Industry and Trade sector in recent years and for attending, reporting and contributing to the success of the Congress.
