At the sacred moment of Lunar New Year’s Eve marking the transition to the Lunar New Year 2026, President Luong Cuong extended his New Year greetings to compatriots, comrades, soldiers nationwide, and overseas Vietnamese. Below is the full text of his New Year message:

Dear compatriots, comrades, soldiers across the country, and our fellow citizens living abroad,

As spring arrives and we welcome the Lunar New Year, at this sacred moment of transition between the old year and the new, I warmly extend my New Year wishes to compatriots, comrades, and soldiers throughout the country, as well as our compatriots overseas, wishing you peace, good health, and happiness. I also respectfully send my best wishes to people and friends around the world for a new year of peace, happiness, and shared development.

The past year marked an important chapter for our country, filled with significant events of special meaning and many achievements of which we can be proud. At the same time, it was also a year in which the nation faced numerous difficulties and challenges amid rapidly evolving, complex, and unpredictable global and regional developments, along with severe natural disasters that caused heavy losses and deep sorrow for many of our people.

With steadfast resilience and a spirit of self-reliance, our entire Party, people, and armed forces united in solidarity, mobilizing the strength of the whole nation together with the support of international friends. We successfully fulfilled all major objectives set forth, leaving many notable marks: independence, sovereignty, unity, and territorial integrity were firmly safeguarded; peace was maintained; economic growth ranked among the world’s leading performers, elevating the country to upper middle-income status; social welfare received continued attention; political and social stability was preserved; national defense and security were strengthened; foreign relations and international integration were advanced and Vietnam’s standing and prestige on the global stage continued to rise, laying an important foundation for the country to enter a new era of development.

Entering the Lunar New Year 2026, the first year of implementing the Resolution of the 14th National Congress with our proud patriotic tradition, strong spirit of unity, steadfast will, and aspiration for progress, our entire Party, people, and armed forces will continue to unite in common purpose, seize every opportunity, overcome all challenges, and vigorously promote confidence, autonomy, self-reliance, and national pride. We will continue to innovate and act decisively to realize the goal of building a peaceful, independent, democratic, prosperous, and civilized Vietnam, a nation of happiness and flourishing development.

In the joyful atmosphere of welcoming the new spring, once again, I wish compatriots, comrades, and soldiers across the country, along with our compatriots abroad, new victories and new successes in the year ahead. May our nation and people grow ever more prosperous, enjoying lives of warmth, freedom, and happiness.
