Liveshow to present vocal lecturers of national music academy

HÀ NỘI — Several of Việt Nam’s top singers who are also vocal lecturers of the Việt Nam National Academy of Music (VNAM) will gather to perform during a special liveshow in Hà Nội on November 17.

The liveshow, entitled Mùa Thu Vàng (Golden Autumn), will take place at the concert hall of VNAM, the country’s biggest professional music training institution.

VNAM deputy director, People’s Artist Quốc Hưng, is the general director of the concert, while famous folk singer Tân Nhàn is the production director.

A line-up of Việt Nam’s leading artists will perform melodies praising love and the beauty of autumn. The performers include People’s Artists Quang Thọ and Quốc Hưng, songbirds Lan Anh, Tân Nhàn, Phương Nga, Phương Uyên, Tố Loan, Thăng Long, Bích Hồng and Hương Ly, and singers Phúc Tiệp, Lê Anh Dũng and Mạnh Hoạch.

The first part of the show will feature classical songs that are included in the training curriculum of the Vocal Faculty.

The concert repertoire will also include several popular romantic ballads.

Talking with media in a press conference about the concert on Monday, VNAM deputy director Quốc Hưng said that the liveshow will present harmonically the academic quality of the national music institution and the entertaining feature.

“The audience can realise the academic quality that is needed in vocal training, and at the same time enjoy the allurement of a liveshow," he said.

Especially, the concert will present performances of different generations of famous artists, who are also talented lecturers.

“It’s will be memorable event when I will be performing on the same stage with my old lecturer – People's Artist Quang Thọ,” Hưng said.

Responded to his former student, artist Quang Thọ said he is very happy to be a part of the liveshow.

“When I was a young student, singing with my lecturers was an experience of great pride and emotion. Later I became a teacher, and whenever I am on the same stage with my students I feel very happy because I contributed to the training of those young generations of talented artists,” he said.

Alongside lecture-student duo Quang Thọ and Quốc Hưng, the show will also feature other lecturers and their students, including singer Lan Anh and her student Tân Nhàn, and Hương Ly, who is student of Tân Nhàn.

Singer-lecturer Phúc Tiệp shared: “When a lecturer participates regularly in performance, they not only inspire their students, but also create chances for their students to learn and have a better career orientation.”

The concert also features diva Thanh Lam and singer Quang Hà – who were former students of the Vocal Faculty.
