Hanoi World Culture Festival raises VND 2.5 billion for flood relief

At the first World Culture Festival in Hanoi, the fashion show “Heritage Footsteps” featured a charity auction to support people affected by recent floods.

The charity auction, held on the evening of October 11, was not only a venue to honor cultural diversity but also a bridge of compassion and humanity, connecting the hearts of Vietnamese people and international friends with communities suffering from heavy rain and flooding.

The special items auctioned included the “Hanoi Ao Dai of the 1930s” designed by Vu Viet Ha; the “Golden Lotus” design by Anh Thu under the Ngan An brand; the “Yen Vu” design by Nguyen Mi; the “Lien Vu” silk scarf designed by Van Hang from DeSilk; the “Lien Vu” Ao Dai from the Nguyet Hoa collection by Ha Trinh; the ceramic artwork “Mother and Child” by artist Ngo Ba Hoang; a special jewelry piece from Huong Jewellery; and the painting “Ancient Cheo Melody and Kite Whistles over the Golden Field” also by Ngo Ba Hoang. With the spirit of mutual support and compassion, the charity auction successfully raised VND 2.5 billion from generous donors to assist flood-affected communities.

“Heritage Footsteps” not only celebrated the beauty of Vietnamese culture but also expanded the journey of cultural exchange with international friends. This year’s program showcased 19 traditional and contemporary fashion collections from 19 countries around the world, each telling a cultural story and representing a distinct shade in the diverse and colorful picture of humanity.

Notably, four ambassadors’ spouses from the Czech Republic, Japan, Ukraine, and the United States participated in the performance. Each of them brought a unique cultural expression of their country through traditional costumes and messages of international friendship.

Taking place from October 10 to 12, 2025, under the theme “Connection - Sharing - Spreading Love,” the first World Culture Festival in Hanoi gathered international friends, artists, social organizations, businesses, and Vietnamese citizens, all joining hands to support communities severely affected by natural disasters. The event also reflected the spirit of international solidarity in addressing shared global challenges, particularly climate change, demonstrating Vietnam’s enduring commitment to unity, compassion, and cooperation.
