Hanoi takes promotion leaps

(VEN) - The capital of Hanoi has efficiently realized investment, agriculture, trade and tourism promotion programs, providing practical support for businesses and contributing to the city’s fulfillment of socioeconomic development targets.

The Hanoi Promotion Agency (HPA), in coordination with sectors and authorities, have organized meetings, dialogues, conferences, entrepreneur cafe programs, goods weeks and festivals to help businesses overcome difficulties, promote products and look for partners and buyers.

Notable events included the Happy Tet 2023 introducing products by traditional craft villages, specialties of city localities, as well as tourist destinations; the 200-pavilion 2023 Lunar New Year produce and food fair promoting products and services by 130 businesses and units from Hanoi and 18 provinces and cities, attracting 18,000 visitors, and bringing in the revenue of VND15 billion; the 150-booth 2023 Hanoi Tourism Festival taking place around Hoan Kiem Lake, with the participation of 14 provinces and cities nationwide; the Get on Hanoi 2023; promotion activities within the framework of the 12th Vietnam-France decentralized cooperation conference; participation in the Hong (Red) River Delta investment promotion conference in Quang Ninh Province; a meeting with the Republic of Korea’s representatives in Bac Ninh Province; and a dialogue between the Prime Minister and foreign direct investment (FDI) enterprises.

HPA will continue investment, trade, tourism and agriculture promotion and work with authorities, sectors and business associations of localities to launch and realize programs to promote business cooperation between the capital and other provinces/cities (such as Yen Bai and Nghe An) and foreign countries like Japan.

HPA Director Nguyen Anh Duong said a series of programs will be launched from now until the yearend to promote sales and consumption of safe farm produce and OCOP (One Commune One Product) products, and connect producers with retailers and distributors in Hanoi. They include a trade fair of Hanoi agricultural and OCOP products at AEON Mall Ha Dong, the 2nd Hanoi Agricultural Products Festival in 2023 in Soc Son District, a craft village and OCOP product event in Phu Xuyen District, an agricultural product festival in Dan Phuong District, a 2023 “Be proud of Vietnamese Agricultural Products” event, and an agricultural, OCOP and craft village product week, among many other events.

Hanoi’s promotion program has obtained encouraging achievements in the first nine months of 2023 and will be further strengthened efficiently in accordance with the actual development demands to provide practical support for businesses, contributing to the capital’s fulfillment of its socioeconomic development targets, the HPA Director said.

Themed “Come to fall in Love in 2023,” the first ever Hanoi Autumn Festival 2023, taking place from September 29 to October 1, was designed to promote the capital's tourism destinations and products, and attract travelers to the locality. A culinary space entitled “The quintessence of Vietnamese cuisine” was also held at the Hanoi Children’s Palace from September 29 to October 1.
