Hanoi Liberation: Important milestones

The Ba Chua Xu (Holy Mother of the Realm) Festival at Sam mountain in the Mekong Delta province of An Giang was officially recognised by UNESCO as intangible cultural heritage of humanity at the 19th session of the Intergovernmental Committee for the Safeguarding of the Intangible Cultural Heritage in Paraguay on December 4. With this recognition, the festival has become the 16th intangible cultural heritage element of Vietnam recognised by UNESCO.

National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man and his spouse are paying an official visit to Japan from December 3-7. The visit is expected to promote the two countries' legislative ties in a practical and sustainable manner, thus concretising the comprehensive strategic partnership across spheres.

Party General Secretary To Lam has urged Party committees, Party organisations, agencies, units, and sectors at all levels to demonstrate the highest political determination in streamlining the political system's organisational apparatus.

The official visit to Singapore by National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man and his spouse aims to further deepen the strategic partnership between Vietnam and Singapore.

The 2021-2026 government term was recently consolidated after the 8th session of the 15th National Assembly. It consists of 27 members, including the Prime Minister, five Deputy Prime Ministers, and 21 ministers and heads of ministerial-level agencies.

The state visit to Vietnam from November 28-29 by Cambodian King Norodom Sihamoni contributes to deepening the relations between the two countries in line with the motto of "Good neighbourliness, traditional friendship, comprehensive cooperation, and long-term sustainability."

At the invitation of President Luong Cuong, President of Bulgaria Rumen Radev and his spouse are on an official visit to Vietnam from November 24 to 28. This is the first visit to Vietnam by a Bulgarian president in 11 years, and also the first trip to the Southeast Asian country by President Radev.

Since the establishment of diplomatic relations, the relationship between Vietnam and Malaysia has been continuously strengthened and developed positively across all areas, especially since it was upgraded to a Strategic Partnership in August 2015.

At the invitation of Dominican President Luis Rodolfo Abinader Corona and his spouse, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and his spouse, accompanied by a high-level Vietnamese delegation, pay an official visit to the Dominican Republic from November 19 to 21, 2024. This visit holds significant importance as it marks the first official trip by a Vietnamese leader to the Dominican Republic, taking place ahead of the 20th anniversary of diplomatic ties between the two nations (July 7, 2005 – July 7, 2025).

During his trip to Brazil from November 16-19 for the G20 Summit and bilateral engagements, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh held talks with Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva. The two leaders agreed to elevate the Vietnam-Brazil bilateral relations to a Strategic Partnership and issue a joint statement on the upgrade of the ties.
