
General Secretary To Lam begins state visit to Cambodia

According to the Vietnam News Agency (VNA), the visit includes a series of important engagements. General Secretary To Lam will co-chair a high-level meeting between the Politburo of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam and the Standing Committee of the Central Committee of the Cambodian People’s Party. He will also co-chair a meeting of the leaders of the three ruling parties of Vietnam, Cambodia and Laos in Cambodia, at the invitation of Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen, President of the Cambodian People’s Party.

The delegation includes Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man.
Upon arrival, General Secretary To Lam, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man walked along the red carpet past the honour guard and greeted members of the welcoming delegation. Techo International Airport was decorated with the national flags of Vietnam and Cambodia.
Large numbers of Cambodian people from various walks of life gathered at the airport, carrying portraits, flags and flowers to welcome General Secretary To Lam and the high-ranking Vietnamese delegation.

The visit is of great significance, providing an opportunity for senior leaders of the two countries to strengthen exchanges, consolidate political trust, and promote the effective implementation of agreements already reached. It also contributes to further deepening the traditional friendship between the two parties and the two countries, creating new momentum to elevate Vietnam - Cambodia relations to a higher level in line with the aspirations of the two peoples, and contributing to the maintenance of peace, stability, cooperation and development in the region.
