From September 2 to 10, 2026, the Viet Nam Trade Promotion Agency under the Ministry of Industry and Trade, in coordination with the Vietnamese Trade Office in Türkiye, the Vietnamese Trade Office in Spain and relevant agencies, organized a trade mission to Türkiye and Spain. The program gave Vietnamese businesses an opportunity to conduct direct market surveys, connect with importers, distributors and potential partners, thereby expanding export opportunities and developing their presence in European markets.

Strengthening the presence of Vietnamese goods in the Turkish market
In Türkiye, from September 3 to 5, 2026, the trade mission showcased and introduced Vietnamese products and conducted business meetings and trade connections at the Viet Nam Pavilion as part of Foodist Istanbul 2026, organized by the Vietnamese Trade Office in Türkiye.
The mission included representatives from the Viet Nam Trade Promotion Agency and 17 Vietnamese businesses operating in a wide range of sectors, including agricultural products, food, indoor and outdoor furniture, activated carbon, wood pellets, coconut fiber, seafood, fish sauce, fruits, processed vegetables, cashew nuts, confectionery, rice products, dairy products, tea, ginseng products, machinery, spare parts, electrical and electronic equipment, information technology, e-commerce and online communications.
During the two-day trade fair, the Viet Nam Pavilion attracted more than 100 visitors, businesses and partners interested in the products on display. The activity helped promote the image, brands and supply capacity of Vietnamese businesses, while providing them with an opportunity to gain first-hand insights into the demand, preferences and requirements of the Turkish market and international partners attending the fair.
Through direct meetings, Vietnamese businesses and their partners discussed product portfolios, prices, supply and delivery methods, transportation, quality standards and potential areas for cooperation. Some businesses reported initial positive signals, opening prospects for further negotiations and the establishment of business relationships in the coming period.
In addition to activities at the trade fair, the mission visited and worked with the Vietnamese Trade Office in Türkiye. During the meeting, Trade Office representatives provided practical information on import demand, consumer trends, distribution systems and regulations that Vietnamese businesses need to take into account when entering the market.
Particular attention was also paid to verifying the credibility of potential partners, selecting appropriate approaches and minimizing risks during negotiations and transactions. The information provided businesses with a stronger basis for assessing market potential, selecting suitable partners and developing more effective business plans.
The mission also conducted field surveys at the traditional Grand Bazaar market and several supermarkets and retail outlets in Istanbul. The visits enabled Vietnamese businesses to gain first-hand knowledge of market structure, distribution channels, product categories, designs, prices and consumer trends in Türkiye, while assessing the level of competition from goods originating from other countries.
Connecting Vietnamese businesses with the Spanish market
In Spain, the mission focused on surveying distribution systems, working with the Vietnamese Trade Office in Spain and organizing the Viet Nam-Spain Business Trade Connection Program in Madrid.
On September 7, 2026, the mission surveyed several distribution and retail systems in Madrid. The activity helped Vietnamese businesses gain a better understanding of how the retail market operates, the distribution of imported product groups, particularly goods originating from Asia and Southeast Asia, as well as the roles of importers, distributors and intermediaries in the supply chain.
On the same day, the mission worked with the Vietnamese Trade Office in Spain. Businesses were updated on market characteristics, the business environment, consumer demand, and suitable approaches to entering and developing the market.
The Vietnamese Trade Office in Spain also shared practical experience in approaching import partners, developing distribution channels and expanding exports to Spain in particular and the European Union market in general. The two sides also discussed trade promotion activities, the promotion of Vietnamese products, market information provision and the introduction of potential partners to businesses in the coming period.
A highlight of the Spain leg was the Viet Nam-Spain Business Trade Connection Program, held in Madrid on September 8, 2026, with the participation of representatives from the Viet Nam Trade Promotion Agency, the Vietnamese Trade Office in Spain, the Spain-ASEAN Business Association (ASEMPEA) and businesses from both countries.
At the program, Vietnamese businesses introduced their production and supply capabilities, product portfolios and partner-seeking needs, while Spanish businesses shared their demand for business and investment cooperation with Vietnamese enterprises.
The direct business matching session recorded more than 50 business meetings, enabling companies from both countries to engage in more in-depth discussions on products, market requirements, cooperation models, distribution potential and prospects for establishing long-term business relationships.
Expanding opportunities for Vietnamese goods in Europe
Through market surveys, product showcases, business matching sessions and meetings with Vietnamese trade representative offices overseas, businesses participating in the mission gained practical market information, developed a clearer understanding of opportunities and challenges, and identified potential product groups and partners aligned with their business strategies.
Notably, direct business-matching activities enabled businesses not only to promote their products but also to gain deeper insights into buyer requirements, quality standards, pricing, distribution methods and consumer trends. Such information is highly practical for businesses as they adapt their products, develop market-entry strategies and expand exports.
The trade mission to Türkiye and Spain further demonstrated the important role of national trade promotion programs in supporting Vietnamese businesses in gaining deeper access to overseas markets, establishing direct connections with partners and turning trade promotion opportunities into concrete business cooperation.
Going forward, the Viet Nam Trade Promotion Agency under the Ministry of Industry and Trade, together with Vietnamese Trade Offices overseas, will continue to strengthen market information provision, support business connections and organize appropriate trade promotion activities, contributing to expanding export markets, diversifying partners and enhancing the competitiveness of Vietnamese goods in international markets.
The trade mission to Türkiye and Spain took place from September 2 to 10, 2026. In Türkiye, the mission included 17 Vietnamese businesses, while the Viet Nam Pavilion at Foodist Istanbul 2026 attracted more than 100 visitors, businesses and interested partners. In Spain, the direct business matching session recorded more than 50 business meetings between companies from the two countries.
