Engineer Do Hong Quang – idea initiator of BSR

Do Hong Quang is the author and co-author of a scientific project and valuable initiatives that brought Binh Son Refining and Petrochemical JSC more than VND1 trillion

Engineer Do Hong Quang is currently taking on the role of operations supervisor (Production Operations Department) at the crude oil distillation cluster of the refinery. Aware of his role and responsibility, he has strived to study and follow Uncle Ho’s teachings on promoting innovations and experience at work, and combined with his own motto “taking difficulties and challenges as motivation to grow.” Do Hong Quang has not only completed his work well but also enriched his initiatives and ideas.

“I always train myself and gain more knowledge and expertise through training programs, seminars, and exchanges of experience at home and abroad. From practical production operations, with the desire to constantly optimize and improve the operation efficiency of the cluster, I always wonder and seek for solutions from the smallest ideas and initiatives.”

Quang said each of his small ideas comes from the assigned job requirements and from the motto “Today will be better than yesterday.” In addition, engineers themselves need to be clearly aware of and respect each small idea and gather small ideas to create bigger ones and build initiatives, thereby contributing valuable initiatives to the development of businesses.

Over the past five years, the number of feasible ideas authored and co-authored by Do Hong Quang included one scientific research project and 10 valuable initiatives that brought Binh Son Refining and Petrochemical Joint Stock Company (BSR) more than VND1 trillion. Thereby, from 2018-2022, Do Hong Quang continually won the title of emulation warriror at the grassroots level and received rewards of more than VND428 million.

For Do Hong Quang, the importance of initiatives is to contribute to the sustainable development of businesses. Businesses that want to survive and develop sustainably need the motivation and efforts of their employees in producing breakthrough initiatives, bold ideas and good and effective solutions.

From the desire to continuously improve and optimize the activities of Dung Quat Oil Refinery, with all the dedication to work, and responsibility as members of the Vietnam Oil and Gas Group (Petrovietnam), BSR employees have been showing many initiatives on the job, bringing high economic efficiency.

“Those tireless efforts, ideas and initiatives have brought many economic benefits to BSR. They have shown the passion and cultural features of BSR workers” - Do Hong Quang said.

In addition to his contributions by initiatives and ideas, Do Hong Quang has also trained more than 500 employees at BSR and other units in the oil and gas industry and also takes the role of updating and providing instructions on operation processes, and training workers in the cluster and new employees.
