Deputy Minister Nguyen Hoang Long meets German energy enterprises in Frankfurt

On September 30 in Frankfurt, Deputy Minister Nguyen Hoang Long held talks with senior executives of German energy enterprises operating in Vietnam.

The meeting brought together representatives from PNE AG, WPD Asia Solutions GmbH, Enertrag, and Messer SE & Co. KGaA. The meeting took place within the framework of the official visit to Germany by Politburo Member and Standing Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Hoa Binh.

During the meeting, Deputy Minister Nguyen Hoang Long responded directly to inquiries raised by German partners. Stefan Messer, Chairman of the Board of Messer SE & Co. KGaA, sought clarification on electricity price adjustments; Thorsten Fastenau, Executive Vice President for Offshore Wind at PNE AG, raised questions regarding investor selection and tariff mechanisms for nearshore wind projects following the expiry of the FIT scheme; while Hans Christoph Brumberg, Managing Director of WPD Asia Solutions GmbH, asked about the pricing framework for onshore wind projects.

He affirmed that in recent months, the Ministry of Industry and Trade has issued detailed guidance to address challenges faced by enterprises in implementing their projects in Vietnam. He emphasized that the Ministry will continue to report to the Government, coordinate with relevant ministries, sectors, and local authorities, and work urgently to resolve outstanding issues in line with legal regulations.

The German businesses expressed optimism about the prospects of project implementation in the near future and voiced confidence in Vietnam’s policies to foster renewable energy development.
