Industry promotion programs have helped rural industrial enterprises in the city of Da Nang innovate production technology

The Da Nang Department of Industry and Trade’s data show that from 2012 to 2022, almost 200 rural industrial establishments in the city received a total industry promotion assistance worth more than VND19.4 billion, including over VND9.03 billion worth of national industry promotion funding and VND10.37 billion from local industry promotion projects. The assistance helped attract VND86.24 billion of reciprocal capital from province-based producers.

Industry promotion programs have contributed to rural industrial restructuring, increasing employment and worker’s incomes, economic restructuring, new rural area development and the city’s fulfillment of socioeconomic targets while helping producers diversify their range of products and improve product quality in accordance with market demand and consumer tastes.

According to a Da Nang Department of Industry and Trade representative, in the 2012-2022 period, despite adverse changes in the domestic and global economies, especially the COVID-19 pandemic, Da Nang did a good job in industry promotion, efficiently helping rural industrial manufacturers develop production and trading activities.

Industry promotion projects in the city focused on helping rural producers procure modern machinery, equipment and technology, improve product design and packaging, develop branding, apply cleaner industrial production, and develop the region’s special, potential and strong products such as processed farm produce, seafood and forest products, souvenirs, fine art wood products, and stone sculptures, among others.

The Da Nang People’s Committee has approved the 2021-2025 program for industry promotion and tourist souvenir development with a total estimated cost of VND145.78 billion, including VND19.5 billion worth of national industry promotion funding, VND35.03 billion from local industry promotion programs and VND91.25 billion from other sources.
