A corner of Da Nang, one of the few centrally run cities in Vietnam and the largest in the central region. |
The list of the preliminary venues has been submitted to the government for consideration, said Nguyen Van Quang, secretary of the municipal Party Committee during a working with a National Assembly delegation on August 15.
He said local authorities are urgently consulting the Government about the setting up of a steering committee to implement the National Assembly’s Resolution 136 on piloting the urban administration model and specific mechanisms and policies for Da Nang.
The city is hiring international consultants to examine the establishment of a free trade zone, thereby helping Da Nang connect with investors, he told legislators.
To effectively implement the Resolution, Quang proposed that the National Assembly and its Committees continue to assist the city in implementing and completing documents and procedures related to specific mechanisms and policies.
National Assembly Vice Chairman Nguyen Duc Anh for his part affirmed that the National Assembly always accompanies the city to accelerate its socio-economic development. He expressed hope that the city would take advantage of this Resolution to foster its development.
