
Russian, Chinese leaders send greetings on Vietnam’s National Day

BEIJING, Sept 1 - Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh on Sunday met comrade Wang Huning, member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau and Chairman of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference, as part of his trip to China for the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Summit.

In a sincere, friendly and trusting atmosphere, the two sides held in-depth discussions on bilateral relations, socialist theory, Party governance and national development, reaching important common understandings.
Vietnamese Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh conveyed greetings from General Secretary To Lam, State President Luong Cuong, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man and President of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Central Committee Do Van Chien to Wang Huning and other senior Chinese leaders. He stressed that Vietnam always attaches importance to developing friendly neighborly ties and the comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership with China, calling it an objective requirement, strategic choice, natural and top priority in Vietnam’s foreign policy.
Chairman of the CPPCC Wang Huning warmly congratulated Vietnam on its 80th National Day and sent greetings to Vietnam’s top leaders. He underlined that China and Vietnam are neighbors, comrades and brothers with a shared future, expressing China’s wish to work with Vietnam to effectively implement high-level common understandings, expand cooperation across fields and bring practical benefits to the two peoples. He voiced confidence in Vietnam’s success in realizing its “two centenary goals.”

The Vietnamese Prime Minister congratulated China on its major economic and theoretical achievements, while sharing Vietnam’s recent progress in refining socialist theory and its development path. He said Vietnam closely follows and wishes to learn from China’s new advances in theory and practice.
Agreeing with Prime Minister Chinh’s remarks, Chairman of the CPPCC Wang Huning praised Vietnam’s achievements and theoretical innovations in socialism, expressing admiration for its recent reform progress. Highlighting the two countries’ similarities in theory and socialist development paths, he called for stronger exchanges and sharing of experience to contribute to each country’s socialist cause.
Also on September 1 in Tianjin, Vietnamese Prime Minister Chinh held bilateral meetings with leaders of several countries and international organizations on the sidelines of the expanded SCO Summit.
