Binh Dinh requested to take bold actions for administrative restructuring

Binh Dinh – National Assembly (NA) Chairman Tran Thanh Man has reminded the south-central province of Binh Dinh to be bold, fair, and objective in re-organising administrative system, stressing that this is a tough task.

Chairing a meeting with the provincial Party Committee’s Standing Board on March 13 to discuss a draft inspection report on the board, the top legislator hailed the initial results in the locality’s organisational restructuring.

He emphasised that the restructuring should prioritise talented, moral, and visonary individuals, stressing the need for developing high-quality human resources, and improving the capacity of leadership, management, and administrative personnel.

Regarding the locality’s proposal for the socio-economic development plan for 2025, which targets a growth rate of 8% or more, NA Chairman Man urged the province to strive for and exceed the set target. He noted that the NA, during its 7th and 8th sessions, and 9th extraordinary meeting, had enacted numerous mechanisms and policies to resolve difficulties regarding institutional and policy frameworks, thereby promoting socio-economic development. The Government and various ministries are expected to issue decrees and circulars to guide the implementation of these policies in a concerted manner, he said, asking Binh Dinh to prepare a plan to ensure the province can immediately implement these policies once the official guidelines are released.

Praising the province’s performance in 2024, he noted that Binh Dinh met 20 out of 21 targets, with many even exceeding expectations. Its gross regional domestic product (GRDP) grew by 7.78%, higher than the national average, while the per capita income rose to 97.3 million VND (3,814 USD), a 9.7% increase. It ranked among the top five localities nationwide in public investment disbursement, while its poverty rate dropped by 2.12%, exceeding the target by 2%.

Requesting the province to double its achievements in 2025, the NA leader asked Binh Dinh to proactively address challenges and speed up the implementation of socio-economic tasks with high determination.

He suggested the province focus on five key growth pillars - industry, particularly high-tech and high-value processing and manufacturing centres; tourism, aiming to make it a key economic sector and a growth engine; agriculture, forestry, and fisheries with a focus on science-technology applications; urbanisation, which should become a driving force for economic growth; and logistics services.

He also pointed to the need for Binh Dinh to improve its business investment environment, enhance its competitiveness, and simplify administrative procedures, while paying greater attention to expanding socio-economic infrastructure system./.
