A rural industrial establishment in Bac Giang has received industry promotion assistance in advanced machinery and equipment application

In 2020, with industry promotion assistance, Tung Chi Cooperative, a rice noodle producer in Nam Duong Commune of Bac Giang Province’s Luc Ngan District, procured a new rice noodle production and drying line capable of creating higher quality products with an output ten times that of the traditional-way-based production. The new equipment has helped the cooperative minimize the number of rice noodle drying workers and reach an output of 70 tonnes of rice noodle worth VND2.4 billion per month. The cooperative is ensuring product sales for 60 households in the area.

Tung Chi is among many producers in the province’s five struggling districts of Luc Nam, Luc Ngan, Hiep Hoa, Yen The, and Son Dong to benefit from industry promotion projects.

According to statistics, from 2012 to 2022, the industry and trade promotion center of Bac Giang Province supported 142 rural industrial establishments in the five districts, accounting for 52.8 percent of all industry promotion project beneficiaries in the province, including 20 producers in Son Dong District, 20 in Luc Nam, 46 in Luc Ngan, 25 in Yen The, and 31 in Hiep Hoa.

Industry promotion projects gave priority to developing and promoting key, potential and special products of Bac Giang, such as Luc Ngan lychee, Chu rice noodle, and Luc Nam yellow flower tea, among others. They have connected rural producers with produce processors and distributors to gradually form a complete production and supply chain while helping manufacturers improve product packaging and design, expand markets, diversify sources of raw materials, apply modern technology, add values to products and reach sustainable development. In general, the projects have helped rural industrial establishments increase production capacity and competitiveness.

The industry and trade promotion center will continue to suggest that relevant provincial authorities further provide practical assistance for rural industrial producers in struggling areas, helping them increase sales and expand markets, contributing to the province’s industrial development and sustainable reduction of poverty.
