Bac Giang develops rural industrial exports

(VEN) - The northern province of Bac Giang has become an industrial development center in recent years, with industry making a growing contribution to the provincial gross regional domestic product (GRDP). However, many rural industrial establishments in Bac Giang remain small-scaled and lack investment capital, equipment, machinery and technology, limiting production capacity, product quality, competitiveness, and domestic and foreign market expansion.

In addition to funding from national industry promotion programs, Bac Giang supports province-based industry promotion activities, which have encouraged businesses and individuals to invest in production, trading and branding development.

With financial assistances from national industry promotion programs, the Hung Thao Mechanical Company in Ngoc Chau Commune of the province’s Tan Yen District procured automated electrostatic wheelbarrow coating and robot welding lines. Hung Thao is a successful industry promotion program beneficiary and has become a leading wheelbarrow producer and exporter, with annual earnings of US$2 million from sales to Europe, the US, and Australia, among other markets. The company is now targeting the German market.

Nguyen Viet Toan, Chair of Tan Yen District People's Committee, said his district reached an industrial production value of VND5.665 trillion in 2022, up 21.4 percent from 2021. Toan attributed the growth in part to the significant contribution of successful industrial producers including Hung Thao.
