Almost 100 outstanding IT products and services win awards

Organizers received 134 nominations from 96 businesses, an increase of 35 percent compared to a year ago, with 30 nominations from businesses using new technologies. In addition, the contest also saw the participation of nearly 20 businesses providing software outsourcing services, especially those partnering up with Japan.

After the evaluation in the preliminary and live presentation rounds, judges selected 94 products and services to receive the awards. The top 10 were chosen based on criteria such as socioeconomic effects, brand name prestige, revenues, market share, and innovative technology use.

The 94 winners posted revenues of more than VND9.298 trillion (about US$399 million). The total revenues of the top 10 recipients this year reached more than VND2.6 trillion (about US$111 million). Among the top 10 were four award-winning products and services based on the most advanced technologies, such as artificial intelligence (AI), blockchain, internet of things (IoT) and big data.

In addition to the evaluation, selection and recognition of the 94 outstanding IT products and services, the organization board sent a message to the Vietnamese ICT community, encouraging its participation in the trend of digital transformation.

Vietnam is undergoing digital transformation, especially in finance, transport, agriculture, and tourism. The Vietnamese government as well as local authorities are aiming to become digitalized. Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc has signed a decision to establish the National Committee on E-government - a step closer to realizing Vietnam’s ambition of streamlining government procedures with online technologies. In addition, more than 30 cities nationwide are entering the process of building smart cities.

Therefore, ICT businesses have to focus more on researching and developing suitable products to serve this urgent demand, creating a strong driving force for Vietnam to advance in the digital age.
