
Digital logistics key to unlocking Vietnam's free trade zone ambitions

From June 23 to 24, 2026, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Nguyen Hoang Long joined the Vietnamese high-level delegation led by Le Hoai Trung, Politburo Member, Secretary of the Party Committee of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Vietnam, on an official visit and working trip to the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela.
During the visit, Deputy Minister Nguyen Hoang Long participated in a series of high-level engagements alongside the Vietnamese delegation, including meetings with Acting President of Venezuela Delcy Rodríguez; Diosdado Cabello, General Secretary of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV), Vice President, and Minister of Interior, Justice and Peace; and Yván Gil Pinto, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Venezuela. The delegation also paid floral tributes at the Ho Chi Minh Monument and the Memorial and Mausoleum of Simón Bolívar, the national liberation hero; attended the inauguration ceremony of the new premises of the Embassy of Vietnam in Venezuela; and met with the embassy's officials and staff as well as members of the Vietnamese community in the host country.


A key highlight of the visit was the participation of the Ministry of Industry and Trade delegation, headed by Deputy Minister Nguyen Hoang Long, in the Vietnam - Venezuela Business Forum. The event brought together a large number of representatives from government agencies, trade promotion organizations, business associations, and enterprises from both countries operating across a wide range of sectors, including energy, oil and gas, agriculture, telecommunications, logistics, construction materials, chemicals, manufacturing, and trade.
The visit took place at a time when the traditional friendship and Comprehensive Partnership between Vietnam and Venezuela continue to deepen, while Venezuela's economy is entering a new phase of transformation marked by determined efforts to rebuild institutions and restore productive capacity.
The visit by Politburo Member and Minister of Foreign Affairs Le Hoai Trung reaffirmed the special, trusted relationship between the two countries. It also underscored the Ministry of Industry and Trade's strong commitment to translating the high-level political and diplomatic understandings reached by the leaders of Vietnam and Venezuela into tangible economic outcomes, thereby fostering stronger bilateral cooperation in trade and investment that fully reflects the considerable market opportunities, complementary strengths, and the enduring political goodwill shared by the two nations.
