With the guiding theme of “Solidarity - Democracy - Discipline - Breakthrough - Development,” the 14th National Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam (January 19 - 25) will deliberate on, provide opinions on, and adopt a number of particularly important documents that carry long-term strategic significance for the country’s development.

Vietnam consistently values the goodwill and support of the international community. Official notifications have been sent to political parties and organizations worldwide, and diplomatic missions have been invited to attend the opening and closing sessions of the Congress.

Steering the country confidently into a new era

Chinese Ambassador to Vietnam He Wei said he was particularly impressed by the political resolve and determination of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam, under the leadership of General Secretary To Lam. He noted that the Central Committee has led the Vietnamese people in deepening reform, strengthening the Party’s leadership, and focusing on the implementation of four core resolutions on science and technology innovation, international integration, legislation and law enforcement, and private-sector development.

The Central Committee has also actively promoted institutional reforms within the Party and the state apparatus, as well as the merger and reorganization of provinces and cities, achieving a series of unprecedented results and accomplishments.

Ambassador He Wei expressed his firm belief that, under the sound leadership of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam headed by General Secretary To Lam, the Party and people of Vietnam will successfully organize the 14th National Party Congress, guiding the country steadily into a new era of development and making new and greater contributions to peace and development in the region and the world.

According to the Chinese Ambassador, maintaining the leadership of the Communist Party and the socialist system is the most fundamental shared characteristic of both China and Vietnam, and constitutes the most solid political foundation for the development of China - Vietnam relations. The two sides will continue to resolutely safeguard the leadership of the Communist Party and the security of the socialist system, and firmly support each other in pursuing their respective “Red Vision” in Party building and national development.

Generating positive change

In an interview with VietnamPlus, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation to Vietnam Gennady Stepanovich Bezdetko highly praised Vietnam’s “undeniable” achievements over the past five years, including robust GDP growth, rising incomes, stable inflows of foreign investment and technology, modernized transport infrastructure, and increasingly streamlined administrative procedures.

The Ambassador affirmed that these achievements are the result of the leadership of the Communist Party of Vietnam, as well as the Vietnamese State and Government.

“As a comprehensive strategic partner of Vietnam, we are pleased with your successes and congratulate you on these achievements,” Ambassador Bezdetko said.

He stressed that the 14th National Party Congress is a highly important political event for Vietnam, and expressed confidence that the programmatic documents to be adopted at the Congress will provide a solid legal foundation for Vietnam to move into a new strategic stage of development, entering what has been described as “the era of national resurgence.”

Looking to the future from the long and glorious history of bilateral relations, and in the context of the 76th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties, the Russian Ambassador voiced his belief that the positive changes Vietnam is set to achieve after the 14th Party Congress will inject fresh momentum into bilateral relations, making them deeper, more substantive, and more effective.

“At present, relations between our two countries are developing dynamically on the basis of traditional friendship and mutually beneficial cooperation, encompassing a wide range of fields from politics and security to culture and tourism, and enjoying the special status of a comprehensive strategic partnership. I am confident that following this Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam, cooperation across multiple fields between Russia and Vietnam will gain new impetus, in line with the core interests of both nations and their peoples,” he said.

The Ambassador extended his best wishes to the leadership and people of Vietnam for the successful organization of the 14th National Party Congress and for the effective implementation of all resolutions and objectives set out for the next five years.

He expressed his confidence and expectations that Vietnam will continue to affirm its chosen development path: building a people-centered society, pursuing socialist-oriented development in harmony with the environment, maintaining peace, and actively integrating into the international community.

“We also believe that Vietnam will continue to build an economy that generates increasing wealth for the nation, delivers higher and fairer social welfare for the people, and promotes comprehensive and sustainable national development. The achievements Vietnam has recorded in recent years are clear evidence that, under the leadership of the Communist Party, with unity, resilience, and the collective will of the people, it is entirely possible to build a developed, stable, and progressive society,” the Ambassador said.

According to Ambassador Rogelio Polanco Fuentes, Vietnam will not only consolidate its existing achievements but will also successfully realize the strategic goals it has set for the next stage of development.

“The 14th National Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam is an important milestone, continuing the revolutionary cause painstakingly built by President Ho Chi Minh and previous generations, and laying the foundation for a nation proud of its glorious history and the achievements of the present,” he said.

The Cuban Ambassador added that the thorough, methodical, and comprehensive preparations for the 14th Party Congress are expected to make significant theoretical and practical contributions to the cause of socialist construction. They represent a valuable contribution to the global struggle for national liberation and social emancipation, and will serve as a powerful source of encouragement for peoples who cherish progress, peace, independence, and national sovereignty worldwide.
