Trump International Hung Yen Project reflects US investors' confidence in Vietnam: PM

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh emphasized that the Trump International Hung Yen project is a testament to the confidence foreign investors, particularly those from the United States, place in Vietnam.

Vietnam’s investment climate attracting global giants

On the afternoon of May 21, in Hung Yen Province, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh attended the groundbreaking ceremony for the Khoai Chau urban, eco-tourism, and golf complex, officially known as the Trump International Hung Yen project.

Speaking at the event, PM Chinh said the project holds significant meaning in deepening and enhancing the effectiveness of the Vietnam–US Comprehensive Strategic Partnership. It also reaffirms the trust of international investors, including Americans, in Vietnam’s business environment.

He noted that the project would contribute to the rapid and sustainable development of Hung Yen and Vietnam, in line with global standards — green, clean, and beautiful. It is expected to enhance the branding of Hung Yen Province and Vietnam as a whole, facilitate the transfer of advanced management technologies, and create jobs and livelihoods for local communities.

According to the Prime Minister, major US corporations such as Intel, Nike, Apple, Boeing, and Nvidia, and now the Trump Organization, have been expanding their investments in Vietnam, a reflection of their growing trust in the country's business environment.

He also recalled that during his first term in office, US President Donald Trump visited Vietnam twice, leaving behind lasting impressions and goodwill. The Vietnam–US Comprehensive Strategic Partnership continues to grow positively, contributing to regional and global peace, cooperation, and development. Vietnam, he added, looks forward to welcoming President Trump again in the future.

The PM welcomed the presence of Trump Organization's executive vice president Eric Trump and his spouse at the groundbreaking ceremony, describing it as an encouraging sign for the project.

PM Chinh expressed hope that the project would be completed on schedule in just over two years, in time to celebrate Vietnam's hosting of the APEC Summit in 2027. He called on Hung Yen authorities and relevant ministries to closely coordinate efforts to ensure the project's progress and quality.

“There is still a vast amount of work to be done, from site clearance of nearly 1,000 hectares to design, construction, and meeting stringent technical, environmental, and labor safety standards”, PM Chinh stressed.

The Prime Minister also urged local communities to support the project and offer land for the greater good of their province. “Authorities at all levels must ensure proper resettlement and livelihoods for affected residents. New homes must be better than the old ones”, he said.

Eric Trump: “This project will be the envy of the region and the world”

Representing the investor, Eric Trump, executive vice president of the Trump Organization, expressed his pride in bringing the Trump brand to Vietnam.

“Vietnam is one of the most dynamic and promising markets in the world today. This project is a commitment to excellence, a symbol that celebrates culture, and a lasting legacy for the future”, he said.

Eric Trump reaffirmed that the investors are committed to completing the project within just over two years, with the goal of building the most prestigious and highest-quality golf course in the world — a development that, in his words, “the entire region and even the world will envy".

Chairman of the Hung Yen Provincial People’s Committee Tran Quoc Van, welcomed the Trump Organization’s decision to invest in the province, describing it as a reflection of Hung Yen’s favorable investment climate, strong potential, and strategic location.

He pledged that local authorities would fully support the investor in site clearance, provide maximum assistance with administrative procedures, and work hand-in-hand with the Trump Organization to promptly address any challenges that arise to ensure the project is completed as scheduled.

According to the master plan, the project will comprise four subdivisions, an eco-residential area integrated with a premium golf course (designed for a population of 3,500), an eco-residential area adjacent to an ecological golf course (1,800 people), a commercial-service urban zone (29,700 people), and a designated green space featuring thematic parks.

The golf component spans over 240 hectares and includes a total of 54 holes, divided into a 36-hole course and an 18-hole course. Additionally, the project allocates 7.3 hectares for the development of social housing and 99 hectares for a specialized theme park area.
