The first Vietnamese bread festival

(VEN) - The first Vietnamese bread or “banh mi” festival will take place in Ho Chi Minh City from March 30 to April 2.

The event will feature 120 pavilions of domestic and foreign restaurants, hotels, bread shops, suppliers and businesses, with different kinds of bread, especially the French baguette.

The festival aims to recognize the values of bread for Vietnamese cuisine and honor the skill and creativity of bakers. Some 105 bread dishes will be introduced by famous chefs. Organizers are proposing March 24 as Vietnam Bread Day. This is the day the Vietnamese word “banh mi” first appeared in the Oxford dictionary.
