Welcoming the signing of the Viet Nam–EFTA Free Trade Agreement after 14 years of negotiations involving 21 formal negotiating rounds, as well as the Double Taxation Avoidance Agreement between Viet Nam and Liechtenstein, Prime Minister Le Minh Hung said the agreements would provide a more favorable framework for businesses in both countries. They would help reduce tariffs and trade barriers, expand market access, strengthen business ties, and promote investment flows, contributing to growth and prosperity in both countries.

Briefing his counterpart on Viet Nam's development situation and strategic priorities, Prime Minister Le Minh Hung said the country was working to achieve its strategic development goals for 2030 and 2045, with a growth model increasingly driven by science and technology, innovation, and digital transformation. In this regard, he called on Liechtenstein to share its experience in the development and management of investment funds, banking, green finance, capital markets, and international asset management.

On trade and investment cooperation, the Vietnamese Prime Minister proposed that both sides continue facilitating market access for each other's goods, including Viet Nam's key export products such as seafood and textiles and garments. He encouraged Liechtenstein businesses to step up investment in Viet Nam in high technology, precision engineering, automation, medical equipment, and finance, including opportunities to participate in Viet Nam's international financial center and capital markets.

Thanking Viet Nam for its warm and cordial hospitality, Prime Minister Brigitte Haas expressed her honor at being the first member of the Liechtenstein Government to visit Viet Nam. She underscored the visit's importance in advancing bilateral relations while creating opportunities to strengthen dialogue and international cooperation.

Highlighting Viet Nam's development achievements, growth potential, and strategic position, Prime Minister Brigitte Haas expressed her desire to expand bilateral relations across a broad range of areas and make effective use of opportunities arising from new cooperation agreements. She described the Viet Nam–EFTA Free Trade Agreement and the Double Taxation Avoidance Agreement as important milestones in relations between the two countries.

Discussing future cooperation, the two Prime Ministers agreed to continue exchanges of delegations at all levels, promote cooperation mechanisms, and broaden collaboration in areas where both countries have potential, strengths, and complementary capabilities. These include finance, science and technology, innovation, digital transformation, and high-tech manufacturing.

They also agreed to strengthen connections among government agencies, research institutes, universities, and businesses, while promoting joint research, technology transfer, and the development of highly skilled human resources. Building on Liechtenstein's experience and strengths, the two sides will enhance exchanges on investment fund management, asset management, banking, capital markets, and securities.

The two Prime Ministers also agreed to expedite ratification of the Viet Nam–EFTA Free Trade Agreement and promote its implementation once it enters into force. They further agreed to strengthen cooperation in green transformation, the circular economy, renewable energy, emissions reduction, and climate change adaptation.

On international and regional issues, the two leaders agreed to continue coordinating and supporting each other at the United Nations and other multilateral forums. They also reaffirmed their commitment to promoting multilateralism, respect for international law, and a rules-based multilateral trading system. Both sides pledged to contribute actively to addressing common challenges and advancing peace, stability, cooperation, and sustainable development in the region and worldwide.

At the conclusion of the talks, Prime Minister Le Minh Hung witnessed the signing ceremony of the Double Taxation Avoidance Agreement between Viet Nam and Liechtenstein.
