Supporting industry enterprises in Ha Nam Province have developed rapidly in terms of both quantity and quality |
By the end of 2023, the province had had 370 FDI projects from 13 countries and territories, including 150 projects of the Republic of Korea (RoK)’s investors with a total registered investment capital of about US$1.7 billion; and about 110 others of Japanese enterprises with a registered investment capital of US$2 billion...
In 2023, the province’s IPs attracted 49 new investment projects, including 33 FDI and 16 domestic projects with registered capital of US$459.128 million and more than VND1.932 trillion, respectively.
One of Ha Nam Province’s advantages to attract a large amount of foreign investment capital is a system of available IPs that are likely to be expanded.
In addition to eight established IPs, and four others in the 2021-2030 planning on an area of 940 hectares, Ha Nam also plans to establish new IPs on a total area of 3,200 hectares.
In the local IPs, supporting industry enterprises is growing rapidly in terms of both quantity and quality. Many enterprises are constantly making innovations, improving their competitiveness, and expanding their production scale to participate more deeply in the global supply chain.
To take advantage of the State’s preferential and incentive policies, Ha Nam has recently paid special attention to attracting investment projects on supporting industries, creating the most favorable conditions to support enterprises in this field. Specifically, the construction of Dong Van III Industrial Park is dedicated to supporting industries with a total investment capital of VND2.320 trillion, on an area of 223 hectares. Over the past years, supporting industry enterprises, especially those that have enjoyed incentives under the Decree No.111/2015/ND-CP like Seoul Semiconductor Vina Co., Ltd., Sumi Vietnam Wiring System Co., Ltd., have maintained effective operations, achieved positive growth, and contributed significantly to the province’s socioeconomic development.
So far, 12 enterprises of Ha Nam Province have been identified as prioritized supporting industry enterprises and they have completed dossiers to enjoy tax and credit incentives. The enterprises highly appreciated related departments and sectors for dissemination about the mechanisms and policies on developing supporting industries, and supporting them in enjoying the preferential treatments according to Decrees No.111/2015/ND-CP and No.57/2021/ND-CP of the Government.
A representative of the Ha Nam Provincial Department of Industry and Trade stated that to support and promote the development of the supporting industry (SI), the department annually organizes conferences to disseminate information on mechanisms and policies for SI development to hundreds of enterprises operating in this sector across industrial parks and clusters in the province. The department regularly updates enterprise information in the SI database system and provides official guidance for businesses to access and register on the website http://csdlcnht.hanam.gov.vn. Additionally, the department collaborates with the provincial Industrial Parks Management Authority to assist in sourcing local suppliers for Samsung Electronics Vietnam Co., Ltd. and issues official documents to notify SI enterprises about confirming incentives for projects producing SI products.
In 2024, Ha Nam aims for the industrial production value of the province to reach VND219.441 trillion, a 12.5% increase compared to 2023. In 2025, SI production is projected to account for 30% of the province’s total industrial production value.
During the 2021-2025 period, with a vision toward 2030, Ha Nam will intensify industrial development, focusing on high-tech industries, supporting industries, processing, manufacturing, and industrial services oriented toward modernity and sustainability. Priority will be given to the development of high value-added products associated with modern technology, smart production processes, automation, green and clean industries, and products with competitive advantages capable of deeply and comprehensively integrating into global production networks and value chains, such as electrical and electronic equipment, information technology, new materials, and automobile and motorcycle assembly.
To make support policies facilitate the development of local SI enterprises, Ha Nam plans to continue directing relevant agencies to prioritize and support enterprises producing items on the prioritized SI product list, ensuring they promptly receive incentives. Furthermore, the province will intensify efforts to attract investment in SI, particularly in the electrical, electronic, and mechanical assembly industries. It will also focus on supporting and facilitating existing SI enterprises to expand factory scales and invest in new projects in industrial parks and clusters.
Ha Nam will prioritize training and attracting high-quality human resources to meet the demands of industrial development, enhance the development of industrial cluster linkages, and improve the quality of services supporting SI activities in industrial parks, particularly services related to electricity and water supply, to meet the production needs of enterprises./.
