Lang Son to ease difficulties for industrial producers

(VEN) - Lang Son Province has been facing difficulties in the implementation of industry promotion projects due to limited support funding and slow approval procedures.
According to the Lang Son provincial Department of Industry and Trade, despite efforts, recent industry promotion activities in the province still have had some limitations. In particular, rural industrial establishments have been operating spontaneously, while the production organization is still small and fragmented. Their production capacity remains weak and not competitive in the market; rural industry products are not diverse and mainly for meeting the demand of the province.

The province has not built key or large-scale industry promotion projects and allocated clean premises and, therefore, has not stimulated investment in the local industrial and handicraft production sector.

The locality has not yet fully exploited the contents of Decree 45/2012/ND-CP of the Government on industry promotion and guiding circulars issued by the Ministry of Industry and Trade. The state funding for implementing the industrial promotion programs is still limited, resulting in unsmoothed implementation of the projects.

According to the Department of Industry and Trade of Lang Son, in 2024, the locality has proposed support for two national industry promotion projects, with a support funding of VND600 million, and 11 local industry promotion projects have also been approved, with a total funding of more than VND2 billion.

To remove the difficulties for the provincial industry promotion, the department will link industry promotion with trade promotion, market exploration, and outputs for rural industrial products; expand demonstration models of new technology and equipment application to production to improve productivity and quality, reduce product prices, and apply cleaner production models that reduce environmental pollution.

The department will also strengthen supervision and coordination with rural industrial establishments to implement the projects, and promptly ease difficulties during the implementation process.

It also proposed that the Ministry of Industry and Trade consider approving national industrial promotion projects early according to the province’s industry promotion management regulations to facilitate the implementation of beneficiaries. As for projects that have not been approved, the ministry should notify registered units, recommend advice and report to competent authorities to consider adding them to the local industry promotion plans.
