Similarly, in Hai Chau District, effective trade promotion activities have been implemented to promote Vietnamese goods. Notably, the district has demonstrated creativity by integrating the Buy Vietnamese Goods campaign with its digital transformation and smart city development program. This was done through the implementation of the “Cashless Payment Street” model, which was synchronized across 13 wards of the district.

Furthermore, Hai Chau District has continuously organized various Vietnamese goods festivals and market-days. These include the “Honoring Vietnamese Goods” festival in 2023, featuring 30 booths, and 13 Vietnamese goods market-days, Spring markets, 13 cashless Vietnamese goods market-days, and 65 zero-dong market-days. The district has also set up an exhibition point at 112 Bach Dang to encourage residents to visit the district and buy its One Commune One Product (OCOP) products.

Further priority

In 2023, the Da Nang City Department of Industry and Trade successfully organized three major trade fairs. Among them was a special fair called “Vietnamese Goods in Da Nang” that honored OCOP products. The fairs featured exhibition booths and clusters showcasing OCOP products, typical products and outstanding rural industrial products of Da Nang. Some 137 enterprises, cooperatives and production facilities engaged in producing OCOP and outstanding rural industrial products were supported with a 50 percent booth cost subsidy. The total support budget exceeded VND600 million.

Additionally, three market sessions were organized to bring Vietnamese goods to the mountainous communes of Hoa Vang District.

OCOP and Vietnamese goods sales points have been set up at the Han Market. There has been collaboration in establishing display points to introduce OCOP and Vietnamese goods in various districts and commercial centers throughout Da Nang City.

In addition, the department has arranged for many delegations to participate in trade fairs and events connecting domestic and foreign businesses. Two demand stimulus campaigns have been launched with active participation of enterprises offering tens of thousands of products and services.

Le Thi Kim Phuong, Director of the Da Nang City Department of Industry and Trade, said that in 2024, the department will continue to coordinate with relevant agencies, departments, districts, and communes to enhance and diversify forms of communications and promotion regarding the Buy Vietnamese Goods campaign.

Da Nang will continue effective implementation of the trade promotion program and the e-commerce development plan for the 2021-2025 period, along with the program promoting Da Nang’s products that will be closely aligned with the Buy Vietnamese Goods campaign. There will be a strong emphasis on utilizing information technology and digital transformation in trade promotion activities, including connecting supply and demand, showcasing products made in Da Nang, promoting trade and export, and developing foreign markets. Efforts will be made to enhance the quality of products and to collaborate in market inspection and control to combat speculation, smuggling, counterfeit and substandard products, and ensure food safety and hygiene. These measures aim to protect the rights and interests of businesses and consumers.

Ngo Xuan Thang, Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Da Nang City and Head of the Buy Vietnamese Goods campaign in Da Nang, said, “In 2024, the Steering Committee of the campaign will have a joint communications plan and propose specific policies to spread the campaign, with a focus on trade promotion to bring Vietnamese products in general, and OCOP products of Da Nang in particular, to the world .”
