Good effects
As of November 2023, Da Nang had 64 OCOP products, 51 outstanding rural industrial products, and 17 typical commercial products. In 2023, the city’s Industry and Trade Department helped businesses upgrade production equipment to improve product quality and packaging. The department also created favorable conditions for businesses to take part in fairs, exhibitions, workshops and other events to introduce their products in Da Nang and other cities and provinces nationwide as well as in foreign markets. Thanks to these efforts, typical products of the city have become well-known to consumers. Many products have entered major supermarket chains in Vietnam or have been exported to foreign markets.
Pham Thi Hong from the Tien Sa Bird’s Nest Company Limited - the owner of a four-star OCOP-certified bird’s nest product, said that the company had been assisted to make eye-catching packaging for its products with QR code and OCOP stamp as well as to participate in programs helping the company popularize its products. Thanks to this support, the company’s bird’s nest products have won the trust of domestic consumers and are on the way to entering the Chinese market.
In 2023, despite numerous difficulties, the My Phuong Food Company Limited promoted exports to new markets such as India while receiving additional orders from the EU and China. The company achieved these results thanks to the active support of the city’s Industry and Trade Department through trade promotion activities.

Promoting trade through e-commerce
Apart from traditional support channels, the Da Nang Industry and Trade Department has assisted businesses’ efforts to increase sales through e-commerce.
So far, most typical products of Da Nang have been brought to digital platforms. Most of these products are currently traded on the city’s e-commerce website danangtrade.gov.vn managed by the Industry and Trade Department.
In 2023, the Da Nang Industry and Trade Department organized many workshops and training courses on e-commerce skills. In June, the department coordinated with the Vietnam E-commerce and Digital Economy Agency and Amazon Global Selling to organize a training course on measures to promote exports through Amazon. In November, the department coordinated with relevant units to organize a training program on e-commerce applications for businesses.
Recently, in the framework of a non-cash payment market-day and the Online Friday event (December 1), the city’s Industry and Trade Department coordinated with the Vietnam E-commerce and Digital Economy Agency to organize a livestream program to sell Da Nang’s typical products on Tiktok with the participation of KOLs and KOCs. Thanks to these activities, sales through e-commerce have increased. “Sales through e-commerce currently account for 50 percent of the company’s total sales. Our products sell very well on e-commerce platforms,” said Nguyen Thien Khiem, Deputy Director of the Vinseed Biotech Company Limited - the owner of Dr. Trung-brand four-star OCOP-certified dried cordyceps roberti product.
Business support through modern distribution channels
E-commerce is a pillar of the digital economy, contributing seven to eight percent to the total sales of goods and services. This percentage is forecast to increase strongly in the near future. E-commerce will help businesses increase sales and develop their brands in the domestic and foreign markets.
According to the Vinseed Biotech Company Limited, its domestic sales through e-commerce keep growing. The company wants to sell its products through multinational e-commerce platforms such as Amazon. “We expect to receive financial support from the industry and trade sector to make our products present on multinational e-commerce platforms and to be confident in global competition,” Khiem said.
Le Thi Kim Phuong, Director of the Da Nang Industry and Trade Department, said that the department will continue the effective implementation of the OCOP program in the 2021-2025 period and the program popularizing Da Nang’s products along with the Buy Vietnamese Goods campaign in the 2022-2025 period. The city will help businesses intensify trade promotion to boost exports through modern sales channels including trade centers and e-commerce platforms
