A.J. Plast plant inaugurated in Binh Duong Province

A.J. Plast (Vietnam) Co. Ltd., a subsidiary of A.J. Plast PLC – South East Asia’s largest BO film producer, and an associate company of SCGC, under SCG Chemicals (SCGC), inaugurated its production plant in Binh Duong Province.

It won't just be manufacturing Biaxially Oriented Polypropylene (BOPP) film, but will also embark on the plan of Biaxially Oriented Polyethylene Terephthalate (BOPET) film in Vietnam in the upcoming phase. This pioneering step aligns perfectly with the market's demand for BOPET film.

In addition, the A.J. Plast (Vietnam) factory exemplifies SCG's steadfast commitment to continuous investment in Vietnam, aimed at meeting the rising consumer demand for high-value-added products by providing essential materials to the flexible packaging industry.

The A.J. Plast (Vietnam) factory, spanning across an expansive 70,000 square meters, is strategically situated in the province of Binh Duong, housing numerous other factories under the SCG conglomerate's operations.

The factory's core products include BOPP and the upcoming BOPET; both serving as essential raw materials for flexible packaging industry in a wide range of applications such as household products, agriculture, and pet food. In terms of production capacity, the initial BOPP production line is geared to deliver 30,000 tons annually. The factory is currently planning to expand its capabilities with the construction of the second production line dedicated to BOPET, marking a significant milestone as the first ever plant in Vietnam to produce this product. The expansion is projected to yield an annual capacity of 36,000 tons/year, further fortifying A.J. Plast (Vietnam) factory's contribution to the plastic film industry.

The technological prowess behind A.J. Plast (Vietnam)'s operations are driven by state-of-the-art machinery systems sourced from Germany. These advanced systems enable the production of BOPP and BOPET films that conform to global standards, and are lauded for their exceptional quality. Remarkably, this technology transfer builds upon the expertise of A.J. Plast PLC in Thailand, with over 35 years of experience, to ensure that the Vietnam-based factory is well-equipped to continue the world-class manufacturing standards.

Furthermore, A.J. Plast (Vietnam) diligently adheres to the strategy of Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) in its operations, aligning itself with the overarching sustainable development goals of A.J. Plast PLC and SCG. An example of its commitment to environmental sustainability is its efficient waste management system. All waste generated during production processes, referred to as Post-Industrial Recycled (PIR), is meticulously recycled and repurposed, contributing to the reduction of ecological footprint and the responsible utilization of resources.
