In 2022 and the first eight months of 2023, the department has supported and connected to create conditions for over 550 businesses, cooperatives, cooperative groups, and production and business establishments to participate in fairs, trade promotion programs, connecting supply and demand of goods, promoting and introducing products in provinces and cities nationwide, typically Quang Ninh, Ninh Binh, Hanoi, Phu Tho, Ha Nam, Da Nang, Kon Tum, Cao Bang, Ha Giang, Tuyen Quang... Hundreds of contracts on distribution and consumption of products have been signed with supermarkets, shopping centers, and distributors throughout the country.

In October 2023, the department has directed the Trade Promotion Center to coordinate closely with the People's Committees of districts and cities to organize two programs “Bringing Vietnamese goods to mountainous areas” in Phu Binh, and Phu Luong districts; and two other programs stimulating domestic consumption associated with the “Buy Vietnamese Goods Campaign” in Dai Tu District and Song Cong City.
The recent trade fair “One Commune One Product - Thai Nguyen 2022” and “Industry and Trade Exhibition - OCOP Thai Nguyen 2023” saw the participation of 190 booths, connecting with 23 provinces and cities, and nearly 200 organizations inside and outside the province. The event attracted nearly 50 thousand visitors with the total sales of up to VND10 billion and more than 50 agency contracts signed with a total value of about VND30 billion.
The events have supported, created conditions and opportunities for hundreds of businesses, cooperatives, cooperative groups, and production and business establishments to promote and introduce products, exchange and learn from applying science and technology to production and business operation, expanding markets, strengthening joint ventures to develop industrial production, agriculture, and services; participate in connecting domestic and foreign market chains to promote the implementation of the “Buy Vietnamese Goods” campaign, thereby, creating a real change in awareness and action of all levels, sectors, people and the business community in implementing the campaign.
Notably, there are over 2,600 products from more than 240 units, including 173 OCOP products, 60 typical rural industrial products supported and posted on domestic and foreign e-commerce platforms such as: Voso.vn and Postmart.vn, Lazada.vn; Tiki.vn; Sendo.vn, Alibaba.com; and more.
In the last months of 2023, Thai Nguyen Department of Industry and Trade will direct the Trade Promotion Center to highly focus on implementing important trade promotion activities such as “Program to promote and connect product consumption of Phu Binh hill chickens and agricultural products of Thai Nguyen Province 2023”; “Festival of agricultural products, OCOP, craft villages linked to tourism - Thai Nguyen 2023”; program “Promoting colorful agricultural products in the 4.0 age - Thai Nguyen 2023”... and other tasks.
Currently, the amount of essential Vietnamese goods sold at supermarkets and markets in Thai Nguyen Province accounts for about 85 percent. |
