Nguyen Thi Thuy Binh, Director of Indochina Woods Joint Stock Company (in Tan Thanh Commune of Tuyen Quang Province’s Ham Yen District), the project’s beneficiary, said the six-cutter plane, made of high-quality alloy and financed by the project, is easy to use and has helped her company speed up production, reduce costs, and create new products. The plane is capable of handling different types of wood of different sizes, weights and volume.
The finger joint wood production support project is part of the 2021-2023 national industry promotion project stimulating the manufacturing of products from wood, rattan and bamboo in a number of northern provinces and cities.
Tuyen Quang accommodates more than 448,000 hectares of forest, accounting for 76 percent of its natural area. The province annually plants over 11,000ha of forest, increasing its forest coverage rate to 65.2 percent, and ranking third among provinces in the country in this regard.
Tuyen Quang has maintained its forest product processing industry while having attracted large investors in the sector, forming business chains and creating stable jobs for local workers. Wood processing currently accounts for 14 percent of the province’s industrial production value.
