Dr. Dao Duy Anh, Head of the National Institute of Mining - Metallurgy Science and Technology, emphasized that the sci-tech research results have been applied to production, business and daily life, thereby, increasing labor productivity to an average of 5.88 percent in the 2016-2020 period, the highest among ASEAN countries and in the group of high-growth countries in Asia.
Recently, the National Research Institute of Mechanical Engineering (NARIME) has successfully transferred technologies in a number of areas such as hydraulic mechanical equipment for hydroelectricity projects, EPC equipment for coal-fired power plants as well as cement factories, automation of production process for washing powder and fertilizer factories, manufacturing floats and anchors for solar power plants…
According to Dr. Phan Dang Phong, Director of the NARIME, the institute’s initial successes were attributed to drastic directions from the MoIT and also from the state funding to implement national and ministerial-level projects.
In order to meet job requirements, over the past time the Science and Technology Department under the MoIT has proposed many solutions to the reorganization of the management mechanism, and guidance on the implementation of sci-tech tasks, closely following the orientations and policies of the Party and Government, and the direction of the ministry on sci-tech activities.
Since the Law on Science and Technology came into effect, the MoIT has issued related documents to guide the implementation of sci-tech work and closely coordinated with the Ministry of Science and Technology and relevant units in building a system of guiding documents for law enforcement.
Being aware that sci-tech enterprises are the target subject of the entire restructuring process, the MoIT has been gradually stepping up its restructuring in terms of human resources, contents as well as methods to implement the tasks.
It has also continuously innovated the management and methods of implementation of sci-tech activities, and created favorable mechanisms to encourage the participation of sci-tech organizations, especially enterprises of the industry and trade sector.
The industry and trade sector is accelerating its restructuring process based on the application of science and technology, innovation and digital transformation. |
