(VEN) - Over the past years, the Vietnam Oil and Gas Group (Petrovietnam) has adopted its action motto of “Solidarity, Discipline, Creativity and Effectiveness.” This is also one of the corporate culture features requested by the group leaders through specific actions.

The top leaders of the Group also implement this action motto by linking production and business goals with the common goals of the country. The Group continuously reviews and updates tasks, objectives, and business targets to ensure growth, especially in the fields of oil and gas exploration and exploitation, oil refining industry, gas industry, and power industry in the context of economic difficulties.

Thanks to the smooth directions from the leaders at all levels to the staff, the Group has completed many tasks assigned by the Government such as: the inauguration of the Thai Binh 2 Thermal Power Plant Project, the establishment of the Petroleum Power Generation Branch on May 24, 2023; successful test of the seams with good results for Dai Hung Nam-4X drilling well; receiving handover documentation for O Mon III and O Mon IV Thermal Power Plant Projects from EVN to the Group (June 29, 2023). As a result, in the first six months of 2023, the Group exceeded important financial targets, with five units exceeding the plan in terms of congregate revenue; 20 out of 22 businesses have gained profits.

At the member units, the oil and gas workers have always attached their mind to a value of “aspiration,” contributing to bringing the Group and the country to a new height.

Twenty-two out of 32 units have applied KPIs/assessed task completion results for collectives/individuals with the scores of 10 to 20/100, associated with key tasks in 2023 and building corporate culture in all of their departments and offices.

After four years of implementation, the 5S practice has been implemented synchronously at all units in the Group. Their working space has clearly changed, creating professionalism, friendliness, modernity, science, and safety at the factories, offices, work sites, drilling rigs, and more. Typical emulation movements such as “Excellent, creative laborers, innovation initiatives, production optimization,” “Planting and taking care of trees,” “The 5S-7H Creative Space,” “The 5S Festival,” “Green - clean - beautiful workplace,” “Green space on marine works” continue to be replicated. The inspection and assessment of the 5S practice were carried out seriously as a daily task, bringing a sense of closeness, especially on drilling rigs, ships and factories.

It can be seen that, from the requests and directions of the Petrovietnam leaders on the Petrovietnam corporate culture regeneration project, so far, the changes in the oil and gas staff have been shown through their good practices. The employees have understood and voluntarily met the requirements on building corporate culture to improve themselves, in harmony with the living and working environment of the Vietnam oil and gas industry.

Ten typical units of implementing the 5S program are PVCFC, PVFCCo, BSR, PV GAS, Bien Dong POC, PVU, PVTrans, Phu Quoc POC, PVcomBank, and PETROSETCO. Nine typical units that had changes from the 5S helping raise the awareness of employees in building corporate culture include PV Power, PV Chem, PETROCONs, PV Drilling, VNPoly, PVOIL, PVNDB, Vietsovpetro, and SH1PP.
