Ngo Quang Trung, Director of the Ministry of Industry and Trade’s Agency for Regional Industry and Trade (ARIT), assessed that over the past 20 years, industry promotion has contributed significantly to rural industrialization and modernization.
The program has provided vocational training and jobs for 100,285 rural workers, supported the construction of 494 technical demonstration models, helped 1,741 rural industrial and handicraft producers procure and apply advanced technology and equipment, held events honoring and promoting 1,632 regional and 512 national-level outstanding rural industrial products, made it possible for almost 6,000 rural industrial establishments to participate in trade fairs and exhibitions, and successfully organized more than 40 trade fairs for regional-level outstanding rural industrial products.
Legal documents on industry promotion have been improved regularly in accordance with the actual development demands.
The ARIT leader said industrial promotion activities need to be innovated in compliance with the actual development demands and will continue to follow the Prime Minister’s Decision 1881/QD-TTg on industry promotion until 2025.
Decision 1881will efficiently mobilize and use all resources to develop industrial and handicraft production, encourage advanced technology transfer and application, cleaner production, green growth and sustainable development, promote the trade in and production of high quality, competitive rural industrial products, increase the proportion of processed and refined farm produce, forest products and seafood, add value to industrial and handicraft products, and strengthen digitization.
The 2021-2025 national industry promotion program will create favorable conditions for rural industrial establishments to go digital, improve productivity, quality and competitiveness, and effectively implement international economic integration.
