Dong Thap prioritizes IC development

Dong Thap Province has adopted appropriate and incentive policies to develop industrial clusters and attract investment projects, aiming at promoting industrial development and economic restructuring towards industrialization and modernization.

The efficient industrial cluster development in Dong Thap has helped attract investment, stabilize production, increase employment, people's incomes and industrial production value, protect the environment and promote socioeconomic development. ICs have made an important contribution to the provincial coffer. In 2022, despite major difficulties, the province reached a total industrial production value of VND74.843 trillion, up 10.13 percent from 2021.

Thirteen industrial clusters totaling 404 hectares of land have been put into operation in Dong Thap, leasing out 222.73ha, or about 81.62 percent of their total area, to investors. The ICs have attracted 64 projects worth VND15.7 trillion of 47 enterprises, which have provided about 16,200 jobs.

Dong Thap has developed a 2021-2030 IC development plan with a vision to 2050, which has been integrated into the province’s 2021-2030 socioeconomic development plan with a vision to 2050. Accordingly, the province will develop 32 industrial clusters with a total area of 1,623ha, including 13 existing ICs and 19 new ones.
