Nghe An diversifies industry promotion activities

Statistics of the Nghe An Provincial Department of Industry and Trade showed that since 2012, the locality has held six programs to honor and promote outstanding rural industrial products, presenting the district-level certification to 223 products and provincial, regional and national-level certifications to 96, 26 and 11 products, respectively. This year, the province has seven products applying for the national-level outstanding rural industrial product certification.

Specifically, since 2012, Nghe An has provided assistance worth almost VND5.9 billion for 26 manufacturers of outstanding rural industrial products of all levels.

The assistance was concentrated on vocational training, advanced machinery and equipment procurement and application, and technical demonstration model construction, among others.

Industry promotion projects have helped rural industrial producers expand production, create more products with higher competitiveness, quality and better designs, and penetrate foreign markets. They have particularly helped some producers increase their annual revenue from VND3-5 billion to over VND20 billion, create more jobs and add more values to their products.

The Nghe An Provincial Department of Industry and Trade will further help producers better prepare for having their products certified as outstanding rural industrial products through bettering product quality and design. The department will build local and national industry promotion programs to help manufacturers develop production, apply advanced technology, improve product quality and reduce cost. It will also make it possible for rural industrial establishments to attend trade fairs and exhibitions and other supply-demand connection activities while promoting digitization and vocational training in enterprises, and encouraging producers to apply advanced technology and equipment, improve product quality, and use clean, environmentally friendly materials.
